i think my question may be sent all the way to the top of dice . it makes money for them and gives us 1942 on consoles. how great would that be.

imo, the quality of BF games on PC could go down with DICE spending a lot of their resource and time on the console side of things. BF2 and BF2142 didn't have to compete with console titles, but now that they seem to be favoring the console side, i expect even buggier and less polished BF games from DICE. if you guys have seen any of the recent patches on the BF2142 side, you'll know what i mean. i mean they seem to be literally be done by one person. they seem to break more things than they fix, and even new features like kit-saving is really a kit-randomizer. servers are plagued by crashes more than before and stat outages are ignored for long periods of time. if you thought it was bad before, it's going to get even worse. that is unless they just get it right from the beginning for the most part and not release a game riddled with issues. it's a possibility since they are not confined to the old refractor engine and are moving to the new frostbite engine.

oh and it seems like the trend of game developers are moving towards the console side. even carmack said console is where it's at. not blaming DICE for following the trend, but personally, i can't stand consoles and will never get one.

Nice to hear something about the PC even if it was nothing I like to be reassured. I do however need to go and hunt down Gordon, and get his tags!

I think DICE have learned from their mistakes, even though 2142 got pretty good sales it never came close to BF2's success. NOT because it's a bad game, far from it, it just was seen as many by a mod (which I don't think) and since BF2 is pretty buggy with even buggier patches (1.3 fail) most people just stayed away from 2142 without giving it a try.

BF:BC is awesome, it really is. I hope we get something similar for PC, but even better.

I wouldnt mind that "Mirrors Edge" tech in the next BF. Would be awesome with the added element of moving around in a more physically realistic way. Being able to climb over stuff, no more jumping as the sole means to get over things. Having your PC shoulder his rifle while he climbs over something. That would be Sweet! As long as its adjustable atleast alittle, so it can be modded to fit different themes, it could only add to the game.

Glad to hear they have something top-secret in the works for PC, means it will be something BIG!

Interesting interview with some good questions. About the Mirror's Edge in BF thing...no thanks and it's probably not really on the table.

Mirror uses U3E and the next BF-whatever for PC would most likely use DICE's Frostbite engine just like BFBC. Heroes uses a modified BF2142 engine in case you were wondering.

Still, I do believe them when they say there isn't one because why keep it a secret? What kind of marketing play is that? If it was around, they would be stoking the flames and teasing the crap out of us. Games are announced up to 2 years ahead of time now so when he says no BF3 - believe that.

                I'm sad, very sad now.

Why BF3? There was never any BF1? BF series doesn´t really follow specific numbering, so I doubt there would ever be a BF3, just a new PC BF game.
