First Public Outrage at Chinatown Wars

As expected, the first round of public outrage has already started for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, the upcoming GTA title for the DS.

Darren Gold, a spokesperson for the charity Drugsline was especially vocal when it came to the newly announced drug dealing mini-game included in Chinatown Wars.
Darren Gold of charity Drugsline said: “Anything using drug-dealing as entertainment is sending out the wrong message.

“Glamorisation doesn’t help our work trying to educate kids of the dangers of substance misuse.”
Dan Houser from Rockstar made it clear that they won't tone back on the game just to make it more family friendly.
But Dan Houser, chief of game developer Rockstar, told the new issue of Edge magazine: “It can’t be softened to make it family-friendly — that’s not the game we’re making.”
