This sounds like one I might actually buy, just based on how hyped I am for the game. I've never been big on dishing out an extra $20 for a collectors edition, but I'll give this one a shot.

Who knows, I can sit back drinking whiskey from my canteen while spraying everyone down with the FG-42!

haha, this sounds pretty good! I usually buy the collector's edition in the past for games b/c I wanted the game on dvd, pretty much my only motivation. The canteen would be sweet with some Rockstar in it while playing. :p

Extra $20? I'll think about it. I don't really want any of the advantages b/c I like the ranking up process. It goes by so fast as it is, then I started switching to completing challenges sometimes for fun.

Yeah, some decent little incentives there for people who like collectables or would like that little advantage at the start. I prefer ranking up/unlocking on my own for the fun factor, but I'm sure a lot of players will appreciate it.

A couple of those things sound like they might only be on Console though...not sure if specific users could get double XP on PC. The coloured clan tag thing sounds like it might only be on Console as well (but this does seem to hint that the coloured tags people wanted in COD4 may actually be in CODWW). Guess we'll find out soon. :)

Cool, but not worth the $20 IMO.

Did you know that in previous CoDs on the pc, you could have a bunch of different colors in your name...no extra cost. :) They should bring that back.

But now they're making money off it, so they'll never bring it back!

It's like charging people to display their signature in a forum.

                      Wait a second, hmm...

Will it be possible to get the CE without activating the only things?

If I had to guess, I'd probably think so. You probably will enter a code or something to activate the special features.

I truly can't wait for the FG-42, it's always been one of my favorite WWII weapons, I miss the days of DoD 1.3 where you got to use it.
But after thinking it over, it's probably best to wait and earn it, instead of getting it right off the bat.
I didn't really like how BF:Bad Company released all those guns for the Gold Edition which you only got at the highest rank.

I think people who really enjoy the full game experience will want to unlock and rank up "normally". Kiddies and impatient people who only care about their scores are probably the types who will be paying the extra $$$ for the special editions solely because they get access to weapons and stuff early so that they can (lol) "pwn" right from the start.
