    Interplay Is Back!

One of the most well known Developers and Publishers of the 90's is back in the game. Interplay Entertainment after it's sale of the Fallout series to Bethesda has come back into the biz. Check it out:

Interplay has relaunched its website today, but more importantly the developer known for hits such as Fallout and Baldur's Gate has brought back Chris Taylor, who was a part of the original Fallout game development team at Interplay in 1994.

Taylor (not to be confused with Gas Powered Games' Chris Taylor famous for Dungeon Siege and Total Annihilation) will serve as Lead System Designer for "Project V13," which is currently the working title of Interplay's next generation MMO. Taylor is joining other original Fallout team members at Interplay's internal game studio, which opened an office in Irvine, California not long ago. Interplay said it's hiring additional development staff members as the project ramps-up.

Although Bethesda Softworks (Oblivion) acquired the rights to Fallout last year, at the time it was indeed specified that Interplay would retain the rights for an upcoming Fallout MMO. To ensure retention of those rights, Interplay had to begin full scale development of the game in the next two years and then release the game before four years have passed after development begins. It would appear that everything is on track for now.

Towards the end of 2007, Interplay also brought back Jason Anderson, a veteran of Fallout 1 and 2.

I never played any of their games (because I was born in the nineties) but it is still good to see them getting back.

        Starfleet Command! We <3 Interplay!

These guys put out so many patches to the game which they had no cash for, and of course the community loved them. Unfortunately, that probably didn't help their cash flow situation.

Redneck Rampage was so many hours and hours of fun, felt like I was killing my neighbors.

Conquest of the New World was and still is to this day my favorite colonization type game the game could go on for months at a time and I loved it.

Clayfighter, I loved playing this game on my SuperNES.

I hope to see new titles for all of these series and a lot of the other Interplay games.

                  Fallout>Fallout 2>Fallout 3.

They can never recreate the original. NEVER.

Interplay sold the rights to Fallout to Bethesda (which is what was able to keep interplay in business)

I've never played any Fallout game so maybe Interplay can make a good mmo out of it.

Did you ever read anything or saw anything about fallout3? They're far from recreating, they've based their game on the best aspects of the first two and are putting it together with a completely different gameplay.

This game looks like it'll succeed part 1 and 2.
