Yeah, it sounded very familiar from COD4, and also like it would involve nades, but I didn't want to assume just in case they changed it for WW. But I'm sure they will recycle some of the challenges word-for-word from COD4, as they can be used and make sense in either modern or WWII settings.

      lol, tactically, cod2>cod4.

but everyone left cod2 for cod4... because it was change, probably will happen for cod5, except the pessismists :o

Dunno, combat looks kinda boring judging by this trailer.

If you look in the user submitted videos on Gametrailers, they have very good footage of the missions/Co-op, and there u will also find ur answer

Oh yeah, I forgot about that but they did have different accents, Russian with Russian accent, etc. In the video though, they didn't have a Russian accent. Just a minor thing, no big deal.

The healing part is that while a man is in last stand, you can administer a shot which takes a loading-bar amount of time, and then he can get up. It's in this video at the very end:

^ Thx for the link to those vids. Not the greatest quality, but at least they show some of the chaos of battle. I'm not sure what the difficulty level was, but it seems that the AI will punish you if you stick your head up too long without cover. I like how the dolt in video2 turns his back on the MG's in the bunker to try to revive his squadmate, then gets shot in the back.

IMO, I don't think that massive numbers will completely leave COD4. A lot of people prefer Modern over WWII, so they won't be interested, and a lot of players have put so much time into COD4 and being competitive that they may not want to give it up either. Many people will think that COD:WW is just a re-skin of COD4 and not want to spend $ on it, and vehicles will also keep some players away. COD:WW also doesn't have near the hype and marketing that COD4 had.

On the flip side, there were a lot of WWII fans from older COD's/MOH that either didn't play COD4 or didn't like it because of the Modern setting...I think many of those folks will probably flock to COD:WW and help boost its numbers.

COD4 will probably take a bit of a hit, but I doubt that it will be abandoned for quite some time...at least until COD6 if that's also a Modern War game. If/when COD4 prices drop, then you'll probably see an influx of new players, too.

Anyone know how this Co-OP works? Is this something on a server? Is it on your PC that people join?

There may be no details on that, I was just curious.

Re: New World at War Co-Op Trailer Released

I remember reading somewhere in an article it talked about jumping in-game to help a friend with the sp gametype if you were playing co-op. In other words, it's online, hosted. Probably a listen server? Unless you could set up dedicated servers with sp co-op, that would be cool. They acted like you could jump in at any time to help a friend playing or add a 4th person to your current 3 playing. I can't remember where that article was.

                        From the Q&A from Gamespot:

"GS: You've shown off some exciting new features in Call of Duty: World at War, including four-player online co-op. Will all of the announced features make it into the PC version, and are you planning cross-platform play?

CS: Yes, the PC version has the same features as Xbox 360 and PS3, but implemented in a way that makes sense on PC. We do not have split-screen co-op, for example. We are not planning cross-platform play. Instead, we are focused on making the PC experience as fun as possible. Four-player online co-op is incredibly fun on PC!"

That may not answer your question, but that is all I can find right now b/c I'm not sure where I had read that other info.

                          Thanks JoMamaz,

The QA dances around the question. I was just curious if you give someone your IP address and you guys go to town or if you all meet up on a CoOp server.

Im just curious how this works. I dont know why, but I find that piece of it exciting over all the other stuff.

You're welcome. I'm also very interested in this. Many pc gamers want co-op for games, but never get it b/c devs think we don't want it...lol.

I'd like to know more details as to how this will work also, I'll keep posting what I find.

"On the PS3 (and Xbox 360) version, players can choose between a multiplayer four-player split-screen offline co-op mode or a four-player online co-op mode."
                            http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/06/23/...o-op-detailed/

"In a sudden turn of events that have shocked the games industry, Treyarch has confirmed that Call of Duty: World at War for the Wii will not have an online cooperative mode. Recently, WiiHD had a chance to speak with a Treyarch representative about the matter. The reason for the exclusion of the larger mode is massively surprising. Apparently, the Wii cannot sustain the World at War engine with that many people on-screen at the same time. This is what Treyarch had to officially say:

We are proud to bring what we believe will be the best-looking Wii game this fall to the community, but that comes with technical trade-offs. The difference between competitive MP and co-op is non-trivial. Think of a size of an MP level, then compare that to an SP level. Then consider all the AI code, level scripting, and endless other content in a SP / co-op environment that is just too much for the Wii to sustain with our engine.

This is incredibly unfortunate news that I’m sure most Wii owners were not aware of. The Wii, and its vast technological prowess, cannot handle online cooperative play. At the very least, World at War owners won’t have to worry about collecting friend codes anymore."

Not a whole lot of PC info though. :|:

JoMamaz, thats exactly right. I dont know why they think we dont want it. I know bots are easy and blah blah blah, but Ive had some very funny moments working with/against bots. Not to mention if a server is slow, you have something to beat up waiting for more people.

Strange about the Wii, I mean isnt there online stuff for CoD4? I know the engine is beefed up some, but I wouldnt think it would be that much.

Developers of games do know that players want coop support for certain games but they don't make it because it takes too much time and effort. That's probably why there wasn't coop for CoD4.
Also, Call of Duty 4 never came for the Wii.
