Re: TGN's Battlefield Retrospective

Ok, without blowing my top at how overly positive this article is, let me quote something.

With several patches released, DICE has done a decent job to put an end to this problem. These patches have shown how dedicated DICE became to keeping the public happy.
How come there was no mention to the fact that this was indeed not the case. Have you not watched this?

Furthermore, you didn't expand on how each series had awesome mods, but BF2 with its locked in ranking system pretty much killed the modding community. Modding is one of the reasons which lent to the Battlefield Franchises success. Think POE1 and Desert Combat. BF2 did a great job killing mods, that would of been worth mentioning.

Just an overall question, why was the entire article filled with positive vibes with no perspective from the other side of the coin?

ThQP. Its nice and all you writing this little ode to dice, but its a shame you dont mention all mods that have been active now for 6 years, supporting these games and prolonged their lives.

The developers, and players of these mods are the main reason these games survived for as long as they have - and still live.

For Battlefield1942
Forgotten Hope
Desert Combat
Eve Of Destruction
Experience World War II
Battlegroup 1942
Norwegian Resistance
Silent Heroes
Battlefield 1918
Battlefield Pirates
Finnwars
Galactic Conquest

For Battlefield Vietnam
Eve of Destruction
Battlegroup 1942

For Battlefield 2
Forgotten Hope 2
Point of Existence
Project Reality
Battlegroup Frontlines
Operation Peacekeeper
Battlefield Pirates

These are the main ones, there are many more as well, they all represent a part of the Battlefield series, the author of the article just forgot to mention them.

cheers

Would like to add some mods for 2142 as well

First Strike (one of the best BF mods imo)
Conflict 2142
Extreme Realism

True, there were problems with BF2 and there still is. But considering the alternatives to spending all our night for the past 6 years beeing CS or Quake I would say it is well spent. You can“t deny that the BF series gave us a whole new FPS experience. Though BF2 limited it to land- and aircrafts 1942 also gave us maritime vehicles. Where else can one find this experience of total warfare?
The CoD franchise now incorporate tanks and flag capturing, I wonder where they got that idea?
