Let's head back to the late mid-70's, a time where arcade games were becoming very popular. A common game designer, Atari, decided to bring videogames into households. They did this with the Atari 2600. The 2600 was the very base of videogames. With visuals that barely represented what they were intended to be and some of the best sound effects you'll ever hear, the 2600 is as retro as it gets. Things were looking good for Atari for many years. Everything changed when a certain extra-terrestrial made a visit. The launch of E.T. was a huge failure and this game is almost wholly responsible for the videogame crash of 1983. In the end, the crash was a good thing.
