No Spore Demo, but Future Expansions

During an interview EuroGamer found out that Maxis aren't planning to release a Spore demo besides the free Creature Creator but Expansions in the future after the release of the vanilla game. Check it out:
"We're not planning a demo of the game. Just the Creature Creator," she said during our live chat. "We've released a number of videos to show off the game."

On the subject of expansions - sort of an inevitability given Maxis' success expanding The Sims and its sequel - Bradshaw said this would happen but hinted at a few interesting approaches involving editors rather than simply new assets.

"When we started Spore, we were thinking about how we'd make an engine that had the possibility of expansion, so yes, we'll add to the experience," she said.

"I think, however, we have a very cool opportunity to take Spore in a few different directions too. The editors are so cool and fun, that we want to advance those as well as the gameplay that we put into the core game."

Among those additions should be the flora editor, which was axed from the full game. "We are not shipping with the flora editor. Sorry. It's something we eventually want to get out there as it is fun to work with," our speed-typing interviewee said.

I'm fine without a demo, the free creature creator is enough along with all the videos they released so everyone should be clear what he has to expect. But I'm a little concerned about the Expansions or Booster Packs though.

As long as the expansions are not done like the Sims i think everything will be fine.

    Remember,

    The Sims: Livin' Large
    The Sims: House Party
    The Sims: Hot Date
    The Sims: Vacation
    The Sims: Unleashed
    The Sims: Superstar
    The Sims: Makin' Magic

And yes I dreadfully own all of these except for Makin' Magic because after playing Superstar I thought wow what a waste of $30.00 After House Party it became more and more pointless.

TBH, I think the sims started pushing it a bit when they released the Ikea expansion. I'm waiting for Sims Crime Wave, which unleashes murderes, burglars and crazy drivers into the happy sims suburb.

OT: I'm not sure anyone is that fussed about a flora editor anyway...

"Sims - Cthulhu awakens" is missing as well. :|:
