Let's think back to the year 1985; Ronald Reagan is president, the 49ers are Super Bowl champs and New Coke failed. In this age the good ol' Atari 2600 was starting to wear thin. People were growing tired of guessing what that pink blob on the screen represented and an old card company from Japan saw a great opportunity.
Though Nintendo was already known for it's arcade games such as Donkey Kong and it's Game & Watch system nobody could have predicted what an impact they would make upon arriving into a families living room. This impact can be attributed to a pair of games: Super Mario Bros, and The Legend of Zelda.
