    Allied Intent Xtended Mod Update

The Allied Intent Xtended mod team has released a new update today letting us know of their progress. Take a look:
Hi everyone, it has been some time since the last news update and we only thought it fitting to fill you in on what's happening in the AIX camp. As most of you know by now, Dice has surprised us with a new patch announcement and we are expecting a public beta to hit the internet soon. Since there has been a lot of speculation and rumors about what the new 1.5 patch will bring, we only thought it prudent to wait and see what these changes were so that our 2.0 release could come out strong and compatible. Sorry for this delay but we feel we can bring you a better release once we know how the new patch will affect our build.

On a happier note, this gives us more time to work on the mod and perhaps even add some new things that we hadn't originally planned to. In the mean time you can always check out our forums for new maps and all the discussion on the upcoming 2.0 release. Speaking of maps, if you have the Special Forces Expansion pack I recommend you download an excellent conversion of the map "Surge" released by scopeone today especially for AIX!

This is a very cool remake of Surge. I highly recommend it.

EDIT: It is fun to play this SF map in AIX and be able to drive the ATV and BTR, etc. However, I think some different choices could have been made as for factions and vehicles. This would have made sense as a UN vs MEC or MEC vs CH map.

I've made a 24/7 Surge AIX server (see sig)

I downloaded the map and enjoy playing it; however I don’t think I will be setting up a second AIX server to host it. If you have a server hosting this map 24/7 I will drop by yours.....

I took down the 24/7 Surge server because I had it up for a week and only 5 people stopped in to check it out. It's not my favorite map anyways. I'm simply running The Push Day until the AIX 2.0 release is ready.

I'm going to get those =TDM= map packs installed tonight.

Honestly though, I have not had much luck running custom maps. I've had much better success sticking with the standard AIX maps and the official packs. I guess that's not surprising to any of us though.

The new AIX SF Devils Perch map is very, very hot. It doesn't seem to work in a multiplayer environment for some reason but I've really been enjoying SP with that map. It's simply awesome. I'm hoping someone can get it to work for MP Coop because I'd play that map until my fingers bleed.
