First World at War Screenshots Released

Although they are not high quality, and perhaps leaked, the guys over at PCGames.de have released the first screenshots from Call of Duty: World at War. Remember, these are not high quality and do not represent what the game looks like on full detail. Take a look:

They don't really show nothing, but pretty cool nonetheless.
Quick question, is WAW going to be released this year?

I wiki'd it and it came up with some pretty awesome stuff.

"One part of a level entitled Maken Raid shows an allied prisoner of war being tortured by the Japanese before having his throat slit by a katana. The player's character witnesses this scene and is later rescued by US Marines. who liberate the camp."

"World at War will have a two-year development cycle, double that of Treyarch's previous title, COD3. The game will be powered by an enhanced version of Infinity Ward's COD4 engine - improvements have been made to the physics engine and lighting model. Environments are now more destructible and can be set on fire with the flamethrower (which features propagating fire). Bullets can also cut holes in thin wood, making a gap big enough for the player to climb through."

That info you quoted was in the magazine article about CoD5.

And yep, this year, woot! I'm looking forward to it.

Does anybody feel that it may be rushed?

Spawn, maybe you might know, but when did Treyarch start working on it? I don't see how a game can be made in less than a year so it must've been started back before COD4 was even released.

Quite honestly, don't know if I will get the game, guess it will be a wait till a demo type of situation due to all the World War 2 games I've played, it's old news I suppose. (Im now addicted to Modern Day)

I think this title may be being rushed to take advantage of the COD4 success. I can not say I blame them either. I will not be getting this game right away. I will need to let the community respond a bit 1st. EA and MOH: Airborne scars still there I guess. :)

Seems nothing new to me at all, those GFX are not par at all to COD4's.. Might be early build, but who knows. Last image looks like it was photoshoped A lot. Same models I see from COD2, use something better......

                        Skip..

I hope we get to play as Japanese as well. They have a good story and it might open peoples eyes who think war is black and white, good side and bad side. They have a chance to really make a deep and gritty story here.

They also spoke of this in the magazine article. They said that for CoD3, they only had about 11 months to make it. They've had almost 2 years of development to make this game. Also, for CoD3, one studio was creating the game for the diff platforms. For this game, they had a diff studio working on it for each game, which was also in the article.

                              :)
