I guess I should give this game another chance. When I played the beta I just didn't get a lot of fun out of it.

Still don't like the fact the map is down on the left, it's just wrong.

Its insanely unstable. I couldn't enjoy it because there was so much lag, and weirdness going on.

I wanted to have fun with it...

I had no lag ... but I still cannot get my head around using a playstation controller instead of a mouse.

Does anyone have the resolution I pointed out on the picture ?

Resolution doesnt bother me, I do know that most games aren't full 1080 anyhow.

            Look at my stats. :awes

Well, normally it would not bother me ... but when the first thing you notice is how blocky something is, it sticks to your nerves.

When I first started GTA IV in 640 I noticed it straight off. When I got 1080p set up it was like a different game.

It makes a huge difference, but if you do not have a HD tv, you would not notice anyways. Its like using a 37" monitor. Much clearer than normal.

If the game is laggy its because they dont have enough servers up and running. During low times the game is smooth but at high times its quite unplayable.

I dont believe there are any games out there for consoles that do 1080p. Your lucky to get 1080i. And of course even if it did, you would still need a 1080p tv!

Marvel Ultimate alliance and Grand theft auto IV both run at 1080p (thats what it says on the box anyways - they probably at 1080i), though you have to set up your playstation in the display options to get this for GTA (by unchecking all the other screen modes)

I think most games run at 720 however. (I know Assasins Creed does)

As at January 2008 there were 26 titles running at 1080p for the playstation and 3 for the xbox.

Most games allow upscaling, but not true 1080p and I would use 720p over 1080i always. 1080i is crap!

I just loaded my Demo and my system is a PS3 60GB, Samsung 46" 1080p. The Demo is running at 1280X720 @60Hz.

Lag for this game isn't from the game, but most likely from back end stuff for the EA logins. If this is the case it can be fixed without patches or fixing for the game.

Ah, finally got it sorted out.

I had the 720 option unchecked in the PS3 Display Options.

                        Stupid me!

I just downloaded the demo and it takes a little while to get used to but when you start to play well especially in multiplayer its a joy to play, the only gripes I have are that the single player has aspects that seem unfinished such as AI standing still, some particle effects appearing glitchy and there was one instance whare I saw a truck pull up and the soldiers didnt jump out they just appeared outside of the truck, all these aspects point towards the single player being unfinished so I wouldnt get your hopes up about it, the multiplayer is awesome though but does anyone else think that the massive bag that appears when you kill someone looks stupid and it would be better if it just appeared after the players body dissapears like in battlefield 2?

my thoughts on battlefield bad company.

                                good
                                1) graphics is much improved...next gen looking. i approve.

                                so-so
                                1) destructible enviroment is ok...step up from static, but bad company is not fully destructible because bare structures still stand. bad company has more destruction than crysis where theres a lot more trees, and all the buildings have some kind of destructiblity...but i like the fact the crysis breakable buildings a full destructible, such as the huts and shacks, but other then that, crysis is mostly static. anways, destructible enivironment is ok.

                                THE BAD.
                                1) squad auto assign...seems like the server places everone in a squad. this sucks, because u going to get lone wolves who will just give positions away, or dont even contribute to the team effort. i approve of last man standing, but i like the squad setup in BF2. unless i missed something, it seems like i have no control over what squad i join. let alone getting squad memebers who arent team players. once a lone wolf always a lone wolf.
                                2)NO TV missile.
3)limited helo functions. the helo physics sux. i can not even do a barrel roll in a helo. other than the helicopters the other vehciles are ok...would be nice if the tank had the coaxial gun.
                                4)on a console...nuff said.
