Well done FH2 team. Will seed 10 to 1 again in gratitude for such a great mod.

PS It's got Germans parachuting into Crete in this release. And a bike..and the assault tractor...for a bit of fun.

It's a reliable safe source, we made the torrent, we release it.

This system is being used by mod teams since years ago and works without flaws, the player can get the file easily and in advance, no waits in public queues, no websites down, at D-Day, H-Hour you get the password, extract the file, install it and hop in your favourite server, this means some minutes.

If you don't like this system just don't download the torrent, wait for the oficial release Hour and get it in a regular files website, if you have not fast conection or the websites are overloaded you will be playing some hours later than the torrent guys. Honestly I don't understand the reason for your complain.

I just associate torrents with illegal music downloads and downloads of illegal copies of retail games, all which can be rife with viruses and malware. You download bits and pieces of files from people that you don't know. There's a higher chance of malicious acts from these unknown people than there is from reliable FTP sources and known sites like File Planet. I am sure there are lots of people that are suspicious of torrents, as I am.

People with more knowledge about torrent technology can explain you why that fear has not sense.

If you get a trojan or virus with a torrent is because the torrent has a trojan from the start. This one hasn't, is pure and legitime like a virgin, we made it and nothing to worry about.

While the torrent file itself is probably secure because it was authored by the FH2 dev team, the technology itself is not foolproof.

I'm not allowed to have torrent software installed on any computer run or maintained by my employer. If that's the way my company does business, that's what I model in my private life, too. I don't work for a typical company and I know that the decisions they make are very carefully thought over.

There is a security vulnerability which exposes your IP address. You may very well make yourself a target of opportunity. If you doubt, do some checking for yourself.

Also, there has been much trafficking in copyrighted material via torrents. I produce copyrighted material for a living and deal with distributing other's copyrighted material(s). As such, I'm forced to wait for the FTP info as I do not wish to participate in the use of torrents and potentially alienate a client or otherwise fall into the hipocracy trap.

I've been told many times before, "You have nothing to worry about." I'll make those decisions, thank you.

So, while waiting, I'll play AIX.

                  Gross,

Lobo is correct, the torrent is in all actuality safer than traditional means. The md5 checks ensure you get all the right pieces and nothing else.

I just got it via utorrent at 1.4MBps.....that is not mega bits...that's megabytes lol.

I completely 100% understand where you are coming from and it is best to be safe rather than sorry. But this is a good torrent.

Dont use cooking knives too.. they are use to kill ppl... sorry but p2p is just a system for file transfers, is not a crime or so... try using Vuze for example.. online tv shows using p2p technology, or even the BBC is broadcasting content with p2p technology...

Anyways, everybody is free to think whatever they want.

Grosskopf, if your unsure about a torrent, check for others positive feedback and after download, run a scan of the file.

Now, just as i trust these guys to make an amazing mod, i trust them to provide a safe installer.

oh my god.....This torrent as they said already billions of times.....has been released by them...it wont have a virus. you must be confusing torrents with Limewire or some other similar peer to peer software I use torrents all the time and when there is a "bad" torrent..it Gets Deleted right away by the admins of those "sites"

PS....while typing this...i was downloading the patch and it was finished under 5 mins with 700kb/s...so its really fast

again to defend Gross here... I think releasing a passworded file on FTP two days after you release a passworded torrent is kinda odd... whats the difference??? You give everyone the option to download however they wish at the same time with the same passworded file..but this isn't the case.

I trust them too. I just don't trust the seeders. Who knows what a talented hacker can do to the file?

Nothing if it's torrented. You can only download and share the original file, no alterations can be made by seeders. If it's not the same file from the original, then its a different torrent, isn't it?
