are "potential" wars out of the question? I know Operation Flashpoint did what would have happened if we went to war in the cold war. Operation Flashpoint 2 is going to be about America and China battling it out over oil, two superpowers with matched technology. Yes no?

The WWII setting is not what doomed MOH:Airborne - poor planning and a buggy game did. There are still plenty of WWII fans out there (which is why they keep making these games) and they were highly anticipating that title.

If they do go to the Pacific Theatre, it will be interesting to see how it turns out. Pacific Assault had a decent concept, but about halfway through the jungle fighting became very repetitive, IMO.

So basically only modern or a nam game for you? :hmm:

Variety is good. But I'll wait to hear what people say about this one when it comes out. I'm busy as it is, so with the little gameage time I can get sometimes, CoD4 fills it nicely.

No, you just reminded me of exactly what people said when they were awaiting the release of Battlefield: 2. The battlefield series pretty much couldn't do anything wrong up until then.

I was never into CoD2 tbh but I can see why people liked it and agree it's a great game, from both an artistic and developers point of view. Just wasn't for me :p

The MP for CoD3 is great(I don't have a 360 my bud does), also its those guys that did CoD:United Offensive. lets just hope CoD5 MP will be the same.

And it is coming out for the PC:yay:.

Rumour from the Kotaku website: http://kotaku.com/389162/call-of-dut...ready-playable

Sources tell us that the upcoming Call of Duty 5 game in development is already playable, and currently going through quality assurance.

Treyarch is also said to be the developer, and the title, we're told, is set in a WWII Pacific environment and will be using Call of Duty 4's engine, the same engine on which the upcoming James Bond: Quantum of Solace movie game is being built.

Yesterday, on the company's call to investors, Activision publishing CEO Mike Griffith said CoD5 would be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and DS, in addition to a return for the franchise to PS2 and Wii for the first time in two years.

Pacific Theater with COD 4's engine would definately be sweet.

I agree with you guys, this is also something for me to look forward too! I thought CoD3 could have in a way been better, but this CoD5 sounds good imo.

I am also hoping that there would be an Exp pack to CoD4:MW from its original creators though.
