Closed Beta Clarification

A new dev blog has been posted today on the Battlefield Heroes website clarifying the closed beta. Take a look:

As you may have noticed, you killed our website. We are not angry. We’re very pleased you want to be in the Beta.

The beta for Heroes will be divided into several stages, the first of which is all about testing out this new way of getting games to you all; by downloading and installing them from a website. We’ll also be trying out some other dull stuff to do with servers, so we are expecting the systems to be down as much as they are up.

To help us track down all the technical issues, we have asked a third party to find us some specialist Beta testers. We are doing all this because we want to be sure that when we launch Heroes, everything will work smoothly.

So hang in there! We will announce here when it’s time to sign up for the public stage of the Beta.

So be sure to keep checking back here on Total Battlefield for the beta announcement!

Why do I have a sneaky suspision that these "tests" on EA's servers lately, have been widely responsible for the massive amount of disconnects while playing 2142.

"Connection to teh EA Master Server Lost"

Nothing on our side fixes it and plenty are complaining.. its something EA has been doing I feel in preparation of BF Heros and in some way its causing havoc elsewhere.. like in a working game as 2142.

Ive seen posts on the web as well as many complaints in game.. I myself lately have had many disconnects and its only since the testing of Heros started.. and I also noticed quite a few servers listed in 2142 that have no server or test name but appear red.. all within the same time frame.

how many here are having major issues lately just staying connected to a server while playing 2142? And out of those, havent changed, installed or manipulated thier bf2142 setttings in any way?

It just started recently.. I have another issue just of late too.. EADM not allowing people to start thier game even after following EA's set standard clean removal and re-install of the game as well as PB services.

Its just all too odd.

I very, very, very much doubt it has anything to do with Heroes. They will be running on completely different servers, in fact, the only thing that is probably the same is that they were both developed in Sweden.

I know there have been issues with server connection lately, but i think that is just a general problem they are trying to fix, nothing as specific as what you are hinting.
