Project Reality Dev Diary Update - 4/21/08

The Project Reality mod team has released a small update. Here is what they had to say:

The SVD has finally been replaced as the marksman rifle for the MEC. Its place has been taken by the G3/SG1 rifle with a 6x scope.

Umm so if you have a bipod will it be more accurate?

ie, a marksman weapon, in the same line as the L86 LSW, the SVD etc. A slightly modified version of its original assault rifle design to give it a slightly more accuracy at longer ranges. Also the G3SG1 also has a 6x scope over the 4x scope we have on the AR :)

umm so how bad is the recoil? like the g3 scoped for infantry.....when i use the scope the recoil is crazy in my opinion

well we are still tweaking her up but generally the same as most other marksman weapons, this will have a lower recoil than its AR version since it has more wait at the front and has a bi-pod for support when in prone.

It will still have much more recoil than say the L86 cos that's a 5.56mm NATO rounds, where as this uses a 7.62mm NATO rounds, hence why the G3 series has more recoil :)

Thou yes the recoil is crazy, the punch the larger round gives on a hit is also crazy

lol well im looking foward to the next release....just hope its not 2 gb or ill have to wait 2 days again rofl :]

but overall i think PR should be its own game xD so keep up the good job guys
