Star Wars was filmed in that Tunisia area, those houses are called Ghorfas. The SW world is also inspired with WW2 weapons and equipment, ex: the british lewis mg

And the stormtrooper's sniper rifles on Endor are MG34s.

And Han Solo's blaster is a Mauser C96.
