    Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update - 03/06/08

The Forgotten Hope 2 mod team is back today with a new media update. Here's what they had to say:
Let's start by showing our Normandy news item. The Universal Carrier was originally designed as an armoured vehicle, capable of carrying heavy weapons through areas too dangerous to use regular trucks. It soon became clear that this incredibly versatile vehicle was better suited as armoured infantry support. Nearly all Allied nations made use of the Universal Carrier, making it the most produced armoured fighting vehicle in history. The original model was done by Omni, Toddel and Rad and the new skin was done by Toddel.

The next vehicle we want to show will make its appearance in the upcoming patch. The Hurricane MkIID was nicknamed 'The Flying Can Opener'. It was armed with two 40mm Vickers 'S' anti-tank cannons, carrying 15 rounds each. It was a great anti-tank weapon, because it's cannons were much more effective against tanks than regular bombs. The first Hurricanes of this type were used in the summer of 1942. The original hurricane was made by Lobo and the 40mm cannons were added by ctz.

Finally, we want to show you one of the maps that will feature in the upcoming patch. This map, about the battle of Gazala in 1942, was made by Fenring.

The Hurricane looks awesome!!!! But alas as I only play this mod in SP and the FH devs have elected to take away the camera views (read not only nose cam)on the planes, I wont be playing.
The thing I really enjoyed the most about FH42 was the cam views on the aircraft, especially the "fly by" view as the FH dev team gave us some of the best quality planes to fly. The FH 42 Hurricane and TBD Devastator were extraordinary.....

You're not going to play the best WWII mod for BF2 because it doesn't have fly-by view for the planes?

Seems kind of like a lame reason to stay away from such a good mod.

Yep pretty much......I'm a aeroplane enthusiest, travelled the world to attend some of the best vintage airshows.
I love to fly, to appreciate the models I'm flyin' in.
Which is why I loved FH42, which is why I think the AIX mod is up there with the best.

Again, kudos to the FH2 dev team for an impressive update.

Out of interest, why does the Bren carrier have a american white star on yet was only used by the British and Canadian as far as I know?

There's probably a reason, I'm not a historical genious by any means hehe. :)

The white star was used by all allied forces in Normandy.
