I've been waiting for a War MMO FPS. It's been like a dream to play over a whole continent with two armies that fight eachother over a large frontline!

Never played WoW because there's a rumor that it's very addictive And that you need to pay2play.

      one word : PING

i mean, imagine it, 100s of ppl against 100s of ppl, server based in, idk, say england, what about the poor guy in south america who wants to play in this massive war with 100s of ppl on it at once.. his ping would be HUGE, the game is already pretty heavy as it is, but if they DO make it like some previous post suggested, they should probably fix the ping factor in some way? idk, but id sure as hell play it!

Most fun part about the game is the "factions." You have to choose side after few training missions. And these two factions are at war. So you can fly from map to map hunting these guys down. When there is huuuge fight going on, when you get shot down, you can choose if you want to spawn back at the home city or previous "safe" map.
Aight your two point I want to speak about. One the first, the one life thing, ya I agree, was just throwing it out there. I wouldn't like dying and being dead HAHA

And the two army thing, are you saying two set armies and you can't do anything about it? because that wouldn't be that fun. I said a thing where you can break off and crate your own, ya that would have ALOT of armies, but would make it a bit more fun. Maybe make it like lvl 30 (example) you can make your own faction or something.

Well, that's why they would have many different servers. And they normally do in large MMO's. The pay2play if they use it often goes to upgrading the capacity and stuff. That's why it's a ***** to get onto Silkroad Online. Seriously. I would imagine the would have a North America, and a South America along with other areas like Europe or like Eastern Europe and Western and such to release the strain.

I think some of these technical issues are where the monthly $$$ subscriptions would come in...paying for extra servers, work on expanding "maps" and areas of the world, creating specific battles/missions for players, monitoring and banning cheaters and exploitive/annoying players, etc.

As people have posted, this has a lot of promise, but also a lot of possible snags that need to be sorted out along the way. That, and maintaining this "world" in the game will require money.

Depending on how fun this is, and the scale of it, I'd consider $10-$15/mo. When you think about it, that's about the same price as 3-4 movie rentals/mo, and you'd get a lot more hrs of entertainment out of the game for that same price.

Think about how confiusing 200 armies would be. I think it would be better to have only two(ie Axis & Allies) to keep the "why" factor clear. But if you set up your own brigade, you could invite people to it, and have it with your friends(ie TGN as a name)..

Did you ever play the Conflict 2142 or any of those tournies? Dude, I was in it for 3 months, and having only 2 armies is like ridiculously boring. Seriously. The same people always doing the same thing, and you can't just get any different people. There is no variety. And the making your own army thing, I would say it would require alot of time effort and you would have to be really high ranked. To cut down on the 200 armies. But my suggestion was also if say 200 armies were actually there, you could war your closest ones for land, create alliances with neighbors and fight together and such. Would make for a much better game than 2 armies IMO

I never got that far that i would actually join one...

But i don't know, maybe it would work having your own army to run.. Dunno.. Maybe we'll find out someday..

Maybe having tons of factions, major armies, minor armies, and mercs would get a bit messy, but I'd say maybe having at least 3 or 4 factions might be do-able. It would bring some politics/strategy into it...like anti-NATO forces banding together to repel an attack...or a big merc army waiting for the 2 big armies to really get into it and get distracted, then hit them when they're not expecting it to possibly score a win. You'd have areas captured/occupied for a time, then re-taken, major and minor skirmishes.

Could have a lot of possibilities the more you think about it. As long as they don't get hung up on "experience points" or "levelling up" that MMO RPG games have...that, I could see leading to cheap, selfish stuff, instead of team-work to win the battles. Maybe if you only got pts for being part of the winning team at the end of each day (with no team-switching, obviously, for a period of time (eg. 24 hrs)), or carrying out specific missions/objectives.

hahaha what would suck, is if you actually had to be issued a weapon and ammo. Then once you are done, you're screwed hahaha. So airdrops or like trucks would be needed to resupply. I could see armies fighting for days on end.
