    Day of Defeat Going Orange

In a recent interview with Enemy Down, the lead programmer for Day of Defeat, Matt "Mugsy" Boone, hinted that DOD will be moving to the orange box in the near future. Check it out:

Currently there are rumours on what the forthcoming update will contain; some believe the game is being ported to the ‘orange box’ engine, some believe the ‘cone of fire’ will be made centre weighted while others believe that all we should expect are some map and game bug/exploit fixes.

Can the development team confirm or deny any of these rumours? Can you possibly shed some light on what the community can hope to expect from this update and what is planned for any future updates?

“It will be on the orange box engine, it will contain cone of fire tweaks, leaning eye point fix and a few other improvements.”

Be sure to see more here.

Imagine a cone shoved into your G36E in BF2. Within that cone is every possible path that the bullets being fired could take if you held the trigger for 5 seconds. Basically its the area that bullets deviate off centre when on full auto

No,I think they meant it may be recalculated,to be more like CSS's cone of fire,I'm guessing.

I hope not, CSS and the cone of fire are just crap. DOD has it partially right.

So does this mean Orange Box owners will get DoD too? Or is that wishful thinking from me? :p

I actually hopping for no COnne of Fire and add real recoil, and add vehecles (heavy armor and jeep) not much fancy but some wheels.

Cone of Fire: It starts as a line, as you shoot/walk it gets wider it is used to simulated a recoil, even not been real or similar to real; DoD is diferent of BF2 that can literally shoot at your back.
