GDC 2008: Downloadable Content Interview

Game Trailers has posted up a new video interview with Infinity Ward Community Manager FourZeroTwo regarding the new downloadable content we'll be seeing. Check it out below:

I hope that these maps will be available for PC users as well. This game needs a pick me up as it is starting to get stail. Sure it is a great game but it we need some new maps to bring the freshness back.

My guess is that they will be for PC as well. It makes no sense to produce maps that can be played on PC, but only give them to Consoles.

I think it's more just something they're promoting so that Console users have something to be excited about in the near future. PC will probably just quietly get these maps in a patch.

It'll be for the PC, it would be silly not to give everyone the same content.

And yes the game is getting a bit stale so I for one am looking forwards to some open maps vs one city fight after another.

I think we may actually see more than one round of new maps. From 402's bit above, it sounds like these 3 maps are IW-created. If released for PC, they'll likely be ranked.

Then, from the details of the current Custom Map contest, it seems to hint that the very best maps may also be released "officially" by IW for all platforms, and therefore will likely also be ranked.

If they release them for PC, it will probably be a while after. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to charge money for them without console people complaining.

They aren't going to release an expansion pack to the game simply with a few maps in it.
