    ModernRcon v0.6 Released

Community member JD from Call of Duty HQ has released v0.6 of the very useful ModernRcon tool. Listen up:
ModernRcon v0.6 is finally here...However, it isn't what was initially planned to be. Rather than including Auto-kick features in v0.6, they will come in v0.7. Instead, version 0.6 has a couple small additions, but a slew of fixes that were important.

    Version 0.6 Changes:
    • Custom Maps support
    • Server Password control (Basic Settings tab)
    • Players with negative score will now show in the list!
    • PBUCON Error 106 fix - languages with the ú character can now monitor chat!
    • Windows XP display issues
    • More... See README for full list!

You may have also noticed you got an alert popup if you were using ModernRcon v0.5 when the new version was released. That's the auto-updater I added recently. As of now, it will not auto-patch, but I hope to have an auto-patch feature before I finish development on ModernRcon.

Still got the server timeout looping problem but apart from that it's all gravy so far.

Well, it doesn't appear to lockup immediately, but it doesn't have support for custom maps, yet. =\

What do you mean it doesn't support custom maps yet? v0.6 clearly support custom maps.

How does one get the custom maps on the server to show in the map list? All I see is stock maps in the rotation builder, etc...

AFAIK the custom ones don't show up BUT there is a spot for you to type in the name and then hit load map.

He's hit the nail right on the head.

See, unfortunately, there is no Rcon command to "get the map list" that's on the server. There is effectively no way to, remotely, detect all the custom maps on the server. If there is a way, I'd happily implement it, but there isn't.

So that being said, the only solution is to put in a field on the Maps tab where you can manually type in the map name and change the map to it.

Now, as for the Rotation Builder, that list obviously can only have stock maps as well. The Rotation Builder is meant for novice users who probably won't be loading custom maps on their server anyhow. So if you are using custom maps, that means you probably know how to write a map rotation, which means you should use the Manual Map Rotation section and not the builder.

Hope that clears some of the things up. ModernRcon v0.5 did NOT support custom maps, because it would crash each time it tried to load the image for the map (v0.5 was released prior to the map and mod tools). That is why v0.6 fixes that, because not only does it add in the ability to switch to a custom map, it also is now stable despite any custom map you put on your server.

                  Regards,
                  -JD
