This weeks Top Tips will deal with infantry. Infantry is a role that many people overlook, and don't pay much attention too, they normally do all the dirty work. Infantry is overlooked for many reasons. They are poorly armored and slow, which makes them an easy target to TA strikes. Also, they don't even have to be shot to be killed, they can easily be run over.
Even if you are able to get in a shoot out, infantry are weak, and will have trouble taking out other units in the open. Infantry can be a very hard role to master, but if mastered you can be a very formidable player. These tips will help you when playing the infantry role. They won't turn you into you into the best infantry player ever, but you will no longer be laughed at.
Defense
Defense is very important in any war game. Everyone understands offense. It is simple, you shoot, you kill, but defense is different. It requires moving yourself out of the line of fire, hiding in places, or getting away from bad situations. Remember, the next few tips will try to help you improve you defensive skills, so that next time you are being attacked you will have a fighting chance to win.
1. Infantry do not have much of a defense so putting them in a building protects them and lets them last longer.
2. If your infantry are hiding in buildings, the building will probably be attacked. If the building is close to being destroyed, simply hop out and switch buildings.
3. Infantry have a special ability to sprint. This makes them slightly faster and can get them out of the line of fire, or quickly get to an ambush position.
4. Infantry become invisible when put into forests, giving them a cover bonus. They are only revealed when they fire at an enemy unit.
5. It is very hard to attack infantry in a building, most buildings offer heavy protection to most weapons on the field.
