i actually think this is a great idea!

Different game modes that resemble a different time in each war and you can go back and fourth.

So much variety would be awesome.

You could have a map in a city in WW1 then go into the future game mode in the same city where it is ruins and rubble. Would be awesome.

I love seeing games introduce the history system in the way that much like highway tampa for BF2 evolves into highway tampa for BF2142.

uh..name one then. other than the two WWs and 'Nam, tell me a more significant war than korea in the 20th century. for starters, check how many countries took part in the war and how many people died: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_war

do you know how close the americans were to using atom bombs against the chinese? yeah...insignificant, huh?

              Indo-China

              War of Attrition

              Chechen War

Just because it doesn't involve the USA doesn't mean its important.

Oh.. the Cold War as a whole maybe?

No shortage of people killing each other. Political speaking the Korean war may have been more important, but is that really a factor we need to consider for a FPS?
Most of the BF2 maps are relatively unimportant conflicts.

Btw the Korean War was before MAD was an issue, so the use of nuclear weapons was more comparable with the end of WWII and did not carry the same "DOOM" implications as it would later.
                Still nasty business of course.
