Ah, but you know, for as much trash someone can talk about delays and misinformation, DiCE generally makes a fun product. I'm sure this will be quite entertaining. All their products have been fun.

And I love the little shoe-in, it is free...and just when I said it would be a very long time before I gave EA any more of my money! I still have not bought Crysis. Any product is going to really have to wow me to actually consider spending several hundred...maybe a few thousand dollars on a game.

Because that is the reality for me. A game is not $50 dollars when we are talking about about a DiCE product, it is $1500 dollars after you finally upgrade your machine.

I still applaud DiCE for trying to keep the market happy. I wish them luck and I hope they have seriously learned some lessons from the past 10 years.

Fool me once, fool me twice...some kids have short memories. But I'm leaning to buying my copy of BF3 used on ebay. There is a minor chance though that I will buy it new...but really, DiCE is going to have to 'wow' me for that to happen. Because I encouraged several people to buy BF2, BFV and BF42...and now, I am not inclined to encourage anyone to buy ever again. Hmm, what does that add up too...17 copies total purchased because of one person's recommendations. I wonder what that equates too.

Again though, I wish the best for DiCE, because I have had lots of fun at their expense (both in the game and in the forums). I still love them though....even though it does not sound like it.

I <3 DICE. EA is who I hate. Good luck on the project, and don't let EA's greed get in the way of a game. :salute:

At least we know what the rumored "Battlefield 3" is all about now!

If you have an actual argument, tackle it with the individual like Chris_Redfield has done, instead of standing on the sidelines and trying to paint the whole group with a single brush while conveniently ignoring anyone lacking an easily-attackable label attached to their names.

By going out and flaming every single part of the game, all your doing is stifling the creativity of developers and producers.
Dice doesn't care about our opinions. Stifling creativity is EA's job.

And everyone is right, I will certainly be playing this game regardless of how much I flame. But is this really the direction you wanted to see Battlefield go? Unless you're a preteen girl, I can't make sense of all the excitement about being able to buy new outfits for your soldiers.

See, like RKO said, no matter how much we hate Battlefield, it has a formula that no other game has ever been able to successfully duplicate. Huge maps, vehicles, teamwork, fun. I love Battlefield 2, and I have desperately tried ETQW, Crysis, FFOW to find my "next game", but none of those games play as well as BF2 does!

The problem is, after a Battlefield game succeeds, Dice gets drunk on profits and decides to pump out a half-assed mod (BF:V, BF2142) to try and get more money. Drunken programming leads to a buggy pile of crap. And of course it has mild success but nothing like the game it's based on. Then they regroup, get their **** together, and make another great game. I want another Battlefield game like BF42 and BF2 because there's absolutely nothing else out there that can match the playstyle and fun of those two. They're just taking a bit longer than usual to get their **** together, and that's why I'm ranting like an angry drugged up hobo :p

CKMC is the DICE Community Manager (Public Voice for DICE), unless he has moved on to another project within EA

Well I think I should just put this fact out there. It's a EA/DICE game and you know what that means. That means you will enjoy it in some way or another and find yourself putting more hours into it because of how fun it is. As none of the Battlefield games are your stock FPS, but have always had something unique about them.

A good side to the cartoonism is that it no longer has to have the realistic feeling to it at all times. Plus if there is a nice collection of mod tools who knows what people will do with them, as they will no longer have the feeling of mmm, that doesn't seem realistic enough while creating their mod or making small changes.

I just hope the graphics and special effects are superb without putting too much strain on system resources. Also making sure that once you have the game you can always play it with everyone without the need to purchase additional media (Expansion packs, Boosters) but add the content into the base game.

If this game has a demo recorder and voip make them a little easier to use and less resource intensive on the server-side for the players that want to make small clan videos to those that enjoy making movies of greatness in 1920x1080, with story lines, and other great things you see in big screen movies.

Also please do the gamers, mod teams, and server admins a big favor and setup vbulletin forums at http://www.battlefield-heroes.com/forums and provide us with official tutorials, tips and tricks, etc. from the developers. As having detailed developer interaction will help any game go a long way. This role that KAOS Studios and Crytek took to have forums for their games is amazing and shows they really care about player input. The quiet public role the DICE is taking might give players the bad impression that you don't care (I know you do or there would have never been patches to the games :) )

For godsake, CKMC is Colin Clarke, Community Manager or maybe he's the ex-Community Manager of DICE.

He's the guy that has the unfortunate job of liaising with the public, so if he would be the guy you would heckle and throw tomatoes at if this were the 1400's.

He moved on to something else, and of course isn't allowed to comment on the game. Hi Colin, how's my job application going? :hi:

I'm afraid not. It says on the front page that this is Battlefield Heroes NOT Battlefield 3. They're two different games.

So... these cartoony games take almost no processing power, right? So that means they can add more vehicles, weapons, huge maps, 128 slots on a server?

I hope that is true, as the official 24 player limit on TF2 is bad considering this is the 21st Century and that DICE raising the bar and setting the omega standard for 64 players. :)

Any FPS that comes out with the max player limit being below 64 is normally a letdown.

TF2 has a limit of 32, or that's the highest I've seen it anyway. TF2 isn't designed for a lot of players.
