Anybody have the patch for those of us with a digitally distributed version (not Steam)? I already e-mailed the customer service of my vendor, they still haven't responded.

OK. My friend and I are having issues trying to hook up in a server. The problem is, we are seeing 2 different server lists. Every time we update, (even at the same time), I see 11000+ servers while he sees 9000+ servers. We were on the phone with each other trying to find a server we can both join, but every time I find a server, he doesn't see it, every time he finds a server, I don't see it. We are both running the current patch, and we are both using the same server filters.

The only thing we did different was he used 2 or 3 patches to get to the current patch, while I used only 1, because I just got the game today.

Anyway, I hope that my explanation makes sense, and if anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it.

Until IW fixes the server browser, the best thing to do is use X-Fire to find a server and both of you join it. If you know the IP of server you want to play on, you can add it to your in-game favorites and then join that way too.

OK, now I feel stupid. So all these posts talking about problems with the server list were people having the same problem as me?

Yes. The server browser has been screwed up since release and IW has failed to fix it yet.

You and your friend should download X-Fire. X-Fire is a program that you can chat with others and join others' games. It's a very easy way to join somebody else's game and I'm sure the majority if not all of the people here will agree.

Is this Holiday Crash map only going to run for a limited time? My stupid vendor STILL hasn't gave me a patch for the version I bought, if I don't get it I'm going to be pissed off.

Ping rates in COD4

After i updated to 1.4 my ping rates were astronomical. The best ping for any server i've seen is like over 200. Most are over 2000. Makes it really hard to find a server that you can be competitive on. Any one have the same problem as me? I think i might just reinstall and go back to 1.3.

Your ping/server pings are fine - they are just being displayed incorrectly. Latest update from IW is that they're trying to fix it for the v1.5 patch.

More people are using the 1.4 patch than previous ones, so be aware that you'll have less folks to play with if you go back to 1.3.

I needed to reinstall. Can I just download and install this patch or do I need the others?

Yup, just download it, don't worry about the older versions of the patches. The fixes carry over to the latest.
