I can't believe people are complaining about something that's FREE. Its nice to see a mod being compared to multi million dollar projects as crysis and cod4

Sava, please, don't put more into my post, regarding numbers of online players, other than what I wrote.. I just thought I'd add latest info to yours.. You are asuming I was making a negative comment to you, but that's not the case here... Read carefully but also not biased......
yeah I never said the timing would differ on the amounts..just pointing out the differences from two different days at the same hour. The mod has potential..it has the ability to be the best...but please people don't bash those that give objective views either way about possible changes just cause you feel its the best thing in the world doesn't mean its correct. And thats fine to me as well..if they don't wish to change anything in the mod that the majority see's as a issue then thats ok too.
.....
Peace love and understanding!Comment

Good idea, and by the way thanks again for the link to download the rar a few days ago...I pushed it several places for download and seeded the torrent for two days straight at over 2/megs second for the community! :salute:Comment

Ok. I played it for a couple of hours. Unfortunately i have a problem with my installation which gives me some lock ups so i cant play more.
I cant write the goods about this mod. It is so damn nice. So i ll point out some things they could be fixed in next patch.
1. You could raise a little the default speed of the soldiers. JUuuuust a little bit. Its fine, but not so suitable with the animation. I mean they seam to run, but the 1rst person speed is a little slow for a man in a slow run. Of course the good thing is that the SPRINT TIME is big enough, something only PR and FH have so far.
2. I noticed that there are some (few) German voices taken from a bf2 expansion pack (like BGF). All others voices are so great, but some o them could be better. And by that i mean, you could add a little "tense" to them, to prove that these voices are from soldiers on a battlefield.
3. There is some bug in a CANON. (i ll try to upload a screenshot later). I couldn't move at all except looking around, after i jumped (and stuck) right behind it.(NOT "ENTER" it).
4. You could also change the head-model of the soldiers when they enter a plane. We cant fly a Ju-87 with a usual Corp. jockey hat can we?
5. Change the jet and Humvee photos on the CONTROLS of AIRCRAFT and LAND VEHICLE menus. We want everything to be WW2ish!
6. Many times, while in a tank, i found myself exploded from enemy fire without a single explosion noise. I don't know if it is a bug.
GREAT, GREAT, GREAT mod.Comment

Having played all weekend I have to say I am only getting more and more impressed. The planes are fantastic! The modeling, texture detail and the virtual cockpits are superb (and it's a first release!). The sounds of them zooming overhead is wicked sick. Can I hear a turbo in the Me109?
And don't get me started on the attention to detail on all the maps! I feel like I am there. I a must start another thread on this thanking the devs for so many small details I have noticed in 30 hours. ;-) The great thing is there is still a lot to discover. There is so much detail I am only just getting a good feel for where everything is on the maps, and knowing intuitively what direction to run for the Bofors when I hear a Stuka coming. =)
And ohh the thrill of having my 76mm Sherman dominate the battlefield! What sweet joy 'after' the caning they received in France '44! Amusing to me how many people are leaving them for crusaders et al at the moment. ;-)
As for some the suggestions on this thread, I suggest the devs take them with a grain of salt. There are too many people loving it as it is. It is nice that people suggest (not demand!) what they might like, but everyone has to remember it is impossible to please everyone at once.
Some here are saying it is too slow, which just goes to show it's all relative to what one is used to and expects. To me it seems REALLY fast after BGF (tanks!) & PR (re-spawning). But I really appreciate FH2 as it is right now. It's frenzied WWII combat with superb detail and variety, a fair dose of realism, and tremendous gameplay.
Now I must go back to work in the 'real world'. It's time to resume re-seeding FH2!Comment

Still sounds like PB not wanting to run as Admin, turn off the whole thing and see what happens.Comment

I'm on 32bit Vista Business and it all works fine for me. No ctd's yet (touch wood)Comment
-
now if i play not using the admin mode I can play one round and once it loads to the next level I get a CTD. Quite annoying but at least one round :)well i try not to run as admin, i see how that works
Although its wierd, because on the PB webpage they suggested to run as adminComment

1. The sound effects are horrible. It sounds as if every vehicle is right next to you. I also keep getting a sound that sounds like a camera being used. Maybe that is a part of the game that I just haven't figured out yet, I don't know.
2. Maps are way too big, especially since half the time all the vehicles are gone.
3. Everyone says "squad up and the experience is awesome". I disagree for this reason.....FH2 is a mod that your run of the mill bunny hopping grenade spammer won't play, so it would go to reason that the more experienced players would go to FH2. It has been my experience that many of the people in the more experienced category are also jerks who get on power trips in a squad since they consider all other players...even those with higher scores than them...inferior to them. They then have the audacity to get mad when you don't follow orders, especially when you think they are poorly leading the squad and let them know so. I will rarely find a squad that both works together and is not full of jerks. I mostly form my own squad now-a-days just to keep from being auto-switched.
4. For a mod that took 2 1/2 years to make I just expected....more. The only thing that I really see more of is anti aircraft emplacements, and lots of lanterns with the flame going in all the little tents.
5. What's with the sky flashing all the time? I know it isn't my video card, so is it supposed to simulate a trip on LSD or something?
6. I know that someone will want to type, "Why don't you make a mod then hotshot?" Well, I can't. I also don't want to. At the same time I am not posting 2-3 times a month to the front page of TotalBF2 about how my totally awesome kickass mod is coming along, either.
I have played POE2, EOD2, DCON, and a couple of other mods quite often. I played them when they first came out, and the before mentioned mods were ALL superior to the first release of FH2, despite many of them coming out a year earlier. The reason that most of those mods are dead or dying is the same reason this one will die despite all of the fanboys at the moment. Too many people want their shiny unlocks and pixellated military ranks next to their name.
I know that this post will get under the skin of a few, especially the "you just can't handle realism" crowd. I can handle a mod that has more realism to it, Project Reality mod is a great example. Besides, if you want realism, the military is hiring. If you go to the REAL desert, say hi to my brother in Iraq. Me, I will just be enjoying my intentionally arcadey vanilla game, with a few detours to FH2 and others from time to time to see if any improvements have been made.Originally posted by EglaerinionI could adress every (dumb) point you make but spending even a few minutes of my time on someone who has some sort of grudge towards the mod is time wasted.
Depends on the time you check. Right now at 15:00 GMT there are 1500 people playing, not too bad.
His points are not dumb, they are perfectly valid. FH2 is not a world beater, far from it.Comment
