WiC Heaven is proud to present the first WiCED contest! Your goal is to create a Christmas-themed map for a multiplayer skirmish. The maps will be judged on the following criteria:
Playability:
How fun and easy the map is to play. Is it one of those maps that you could play for days on end or is it one of those maps that you dread seeing on the loading screen? Can you just hop right in for a game, or is the map confusing if you’ve never played before?
Balance:
How balanced the map is. The map should have as much balance as possible.
Map Design:
How pretty and complete the map is. Does it look nice? Is there detail? Is there a section of the map that just looks and feels like it needs more work?
Creativity:
How creative your design is. It shouldn’t be Xmas with a name change. A suitable and creative name falls under this category.
Story:
Your location should have a bit of a story. Is this the site of a major historic battle? Is it just a quiet location out in the middle of no where? This is essentially just creating a map description like the ones already found in-game.
Any of the three game modes is acceptable. The map should be able to be played by 8 to 16 players without it getting too spread out or too crowded.
The maps will be judged by WiC Heaven staff.
Rules:
The contest starts on Wednesday, November 28th.
The contest ends on Wednesday, December 19th, at 11:59pm EST (GMT -5).
Send all entries to myself at adberndt@cableone.net. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 48 hours, please send it again.
One entry per person, so make sure it's a good one!
The winner will be announced a few days after the 19th.
Everyone who enters will receive a review of their map. The winner’s map will be featured at one of World in Conflict Heaven’s forum parties.
Good luck and have fun!
