The Point of Existence 2 mod team is back today with the release of their v2.1 patch. Here's what they had to say:

Welcome back for our #115 news posting and the release of Point of Existence:2 client version 2.1. Our active developers have done a lot to get this build ready and our testers have done a great job testing things. To begin the news we want to thank a few groups for their help and assistance. First off would be Hypernia.net – our primary sponsor who has provided our server environment for the last 4 years. Without them we couldn’t have afforded the infrastructure costs to run the servers that we currently have. They’ve done a lot for us over the last 4 years and we couldn’t have kept our site open for this long if it wasn’t for them. With our release they are also providing a server promotion - for more details just click on the Hypernia banner at the top of the webpage. Second would be Pocketsoft - they’ve allowed us to use RTPatch which is the same patching application that EA and other software development companies use . For our dedicated testers – they’ve done a lot with making sure that the major bugs are detected and reported so that the development team can address the problems before we release to the public. With all of the new games being release it’s difficult to get people play our mod – gaming communities like One Black Sheep and Datorbutiken.comhave done a lot to support our mod by hosting their organized game sessions and contests. that new destroyer sure does look sexy...............wish i could try it, keep getting install errors when trying to apply the patch. first kept getting a corrupt download error from the hypernia us silo and now i got it from the uk one and get a different installation error saying invalid patch............grrrrrrrrrrr..........time to uninstall everything and reinstall i guess. luckily the full version torrent hauls! almost 2 mb a second.

grrr. ok i give up, even got a corrupt CRC error from the full torrent version as well right as its almost done extracting. gonna have to try the gamers hell mirror, its just so slowwwwww.

Odd power. The file is pretty large (2.4 gigs if I remember correctly) so that could be part of the issue. Many torrent utilities will correct/repair 'broken' torrents (believe utorrent does)

You can always find a solid game. Make sure your filters are correct...if you have ranked only checked you won't see any servers since no mod is ranked.

The patch is up on Modjive now. I'm having a hard time getting the massive full release too, but it'll be there as well soon. :p

Played it and love it. It's still POe2 to me. tacticalgamer wasn't playing the new maps the night I played though, and since they are basically the only server to have several people always on, I was kind of hoping they'd of been playing less "Fallen" and more new maps!
