    BattleGroup-Frontlines Mod Update #55

The BattleGroup-Frontlines mod team is back today to release their server files. Here's what they had to say:
BGF are pleased to announce that the impending release is going well - there`s just one day to go until the full public release and already a number of BGF servers are up and running, with more coming online all the time. Call by our website for details of what public servers are running where. Any server admins who wish to run BGF but aren`t yet doing so are encouraged to contact us; nonetheless we are making the server build available to the community at the following link:

Meanwhile to give players an idea of what`s in the upcoming release (and what`s not) please take a look at the BGF User Guide. This is an early version covering vehicles, aircraft and stationary weapons (eventually it will be extended to cover infantry weapons and maps) and it should give you a pretty good taster of what the mod`s about. It`s available at the following link:

Tomorrow we will issue our final release news (including BitTorrent password and FullInstall links) - and then we`ll see you on the battlefields of the Eastern Front!

Check back tomorrow for the release of the client files and the torrent password!

First off, ignore all the negative comments on their website saying the graphics are bad, all they are really mad at is their lousy graphics card.

The weapon models can come off as a little BF42'ish and those german "modern" voices I seriously dislike.

But apart from that, you got yourself a premium mod.

                        :salute:

i like it alot, love some ideas they have there, liek the destroyable houses and stuff, and the graphics on high are pretty cool, some textures need fixing and stuff but for a first release its pretty cool and fun to play, btw could you guys fix the AA gunners? it seems to be impossible to shoot a gunner out of an AA gun without exploding it.

i cant wait for future patches, you guys have all my attention, untill then i'll play the heck out of this mod!

                          WW2 BACK ON BF! YAAAAY!

EDIT: nevermind, for some reason linux didn't like the archive, but once booted into windows it worked.

Clever there but you are out of logic. As you can find out yourself, bad graphics are not a result of a cheap and low-end card graphic card. Unless you consider 1900xt and 8800 bad VGAs! So we arent the mad people in here.
Texturing is bad and the rendering doesnt fit too good in the mood of the game. Look at the soviet airplanes. Too bright, not detailed, 1st person HUD is not even the quality of the BF1942 engine. Speaking of, watch the animation of the soldiers. Thats not BF2 engine. It is something older. So slow, so straight-lined. The change of view to the iron sights when you right click is buggy too. Not so smooth.

Those thinks need to be corrected, maybe in a future release. But don't expect people not to mention them.
