I thought it didnt cost anything to run a COD4 ranked server, is that why you guys are offering a 25% discount for those that dont know.

1) there ARE ranked servers for online PC multi-player.

2) you CAN run a server for free off of your own PC at home, but if you rent one from a GSP, you still have to pay for it. But there are no preferred partner GSP's, which drive the price up and cost more to run ranked servers.

In other words you can use any dedicated box and make a server and it will show "Ranked".

Correct. As long as you only play around with certain allowed variables in the config, you can run a PC as a ranked server. If you change other variables, then you can only run it as unranked.

there are no seperate installs ort super secret code that a GSP needs to run ranked :salute:
