Allied Intent Xtended Map Pack Released

Posted over on the Allied Intent Xtended mod website today is a release of a new map pack created by imtheheadhunter. Take a look:

imtheheadhunter from BFSP has released his first map pack for AIX today! The first pack off the rank includes 'End of the Line,' 'Kursk,' 'Maurauders at Midnight,' 'Midway,' 'Snowy Park/day/summer,' and 'Solomon Showdown.' A couple of these maps have out of the box gameplay styles which are like team deathmatch. No flag capping, just pure fragging. Others such as the excellent BF1942 remakes Kursk and Midway, provide the traditional Bf2 gameplay with a touch of nostalgia!

He's remade more '42 maps than this and they are all very good.

Official AIX versions of headhunters other maps are on the way including Kasserine Pass. I'd suggest you wait to get the proper versions that contain the AIX content fully in them.

Is it just a coincidence he released the same maps that you guys are officially releasing?

I want to play some pacific fighting maps baddd! Wakes good, but whats the 1942 one with the island in the middle, that'd be better! =D

Nah its not a coincidence, we're working closely with imtheheadhunter with these map packs. Incidently he is also a very integral part of the AIX test team so its great to be able to get these maps out to everyone with the AIX flavour :)

Congratulations on the map pack - it's excellent.

Also a huge 'pat on the back' to all AIX staff and testers -it's got me back into BF2 after a long time away.

The quality and feel of the AIX mod from loadup to the finish of game play is outstanding.

I'm an ex bf2 modder(RL issues blew me out lol) but know the hard work required to have a 1st rate polished mod/map release.

Not exactly, this is a map pack and won't be included in the core aix installer in future. This is a good thing because it keeps our main AIX client smallish while people can choose which map packs they want

its only bad for MP when the map changes on the server that you dont have, you will CTD :p

but not such a big issue for you guys since you are mainly SP based :)
