1. copy the bf2 one and paste it on the desktop
2. change the target to (right click and chose properties): "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/bfp2 +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 (+szx 1680 +szy 1050 add this part if you have wide screen and change the resolution to yours)
3. right click, choose properties, and then choose Change icon (direct it to the pirates one in the pirates folder)

viola.

***not at home to see, but make sure I have the Pirates mod folder name correct.

****If you are experiencing crashes connecting to server NOT running Black Beard's Atol****

A small number of players have been experiencing crashes to desktop. It is disappointing to all of us even if only 2 or 3 people are getting disconnected.

Try deleting the contents of your cache folders (not the folders themselves). You can find several cache them at My Documents/BF2/...

Remember to keep the main folder and delete the contents.

Also if you guys can post your spec that would be a big help. We apologize for your issues and we are working on a fix.

Also, we'd like to remind you not to connect to a server running Black Beard's Atol until we've released a proper server patch.


Now get in there and pillage!

had some good times playing on this mod today. the gameplay is well, diffrent, for me anyways hehe :)

its a nice change of pace from PR and not as spammy as vbf2 :)

had some good times with DrunkenPirate and mr plunder, mostly killing them thou :p

I think the mod has still some issues to sort out but that can only be expected with any first release :)

I only had a couple minutes to test it this morning before work, but as soon as the map loaded, I had a CTD. I did check and my geometry setting was set to high. I noticed something about having to put it to medium, which I did not test. I assumed the crash was due to that setting. It that possible? I'll test it out tonight when I have more time.

I Was really impressed with how polished and fun this mod is. However, I am also having the CTD problem.

If the Cache, fix doesn't work for you please come to the bfpirates forums and report the problem to us directly there, along with any error messages etc. It will speed up our fixing of the problem hopefully.

And i'de just like to apologise to you all for the CTD's they didn't occur when we testing the R1 build.

Last night a played a few and kept getting disconnect issues which is not BFP2's fault but was really frustrating as I was really enjoying the mod. However when I tried to rejoin the server for like the 5th time, I got a CTD followed by 3 more CTD's in a row while trying to join a populated server not running BB Atol.

Other than that, I am loving the mod. The weapons, the sounds, the maps, and the overall feel is just awesome!

Amazing work guys and congrats on the release! tried to join a server but ctd at 100% so I ran around a few levels on my own to get a feel for weapons and maps. The animations are top notch! The five barrelled pistol has the most epic reload animation I have ever seen! What is that, like 15 seconds per reload? lol.

A little disapointed not even one map has SP support though. I hope some of the other bfsp guys tackle it and a SP mini-mod gets going some time. It all comes down to whether the static modelers created col3 meshes I guess. Anyhoo, great looking mod, very slick and is sure to be a MP favourite. :salute:

It figures that the very first BF2 mod to come out that I've been waiting for comes out just a few days after my only computer dies.

Now I can't even play the original BFP anymore for at least another month.

Surprisingly small, yet very fun. I have had no problems at all.

Sniper Rifles seem to be a little to accurate though.

Don't forget - if you get a CTD, you can run the game in windowed mode and when it CTD's, it'll tell you the error.

Had so much fun playing last night. Great mod, and a welcome change.

Some of my Clan, =CDU=, had probs with the install. But most got in and we are currently not running Black Beard's ATOL until you have the patch or our resident mod guy fixes it...he was talking about it last night. Thanks for the info on the CTD stuff - I will forward it on, only a couple of guys were having the problem and it sucked to have them hear all of us drunken pirates hooten and Hasahing about.

Made a desktop shortcut with some editing and found the icon in the folder.

Those of us with widescreen monitors that always edit shortcuts to make widescreen resolution display properly will have some experience in this thankfully.


edit : on noes! i have that wierd bug i haven't seen for a while where you get into the game then the fps suddenly drops as the game lags at less than 1fps. No idea how i resolved this problem before
