Hardy harr! Today we're proud to present our fifth and final map update prior to our upcoming first release. We're going to talk about another remake, namely Shiver Me Timbers (abbreviated SMT), one of the most popular maps ever created for Battlefield Pirates. SMT, first introduced in BFP 0.3, became especially popular as a capture the flag map, surpassing its popularity as a conquest map. Since capture the flag maps suits clan matches especially well, SMT became one of the regulars in matches. As the map quickly became recognized as one of the BFP1 classics, it was natural to redo SMT for BFP2 with a new look and layout.
The towers are gone and and have been replaced by hill paths and secluded islands. Some of these are linked by bridges, while others are only reachable by boat or by taking a swim. Although the new layout may no longer be familiar to the veterans of BFP1, the style of play that was associated with SMT's conquest with multiple attack routes retains the core idea of the map while embracing the new opportunities offered by BF2. SMT was redesigned by Catbox.
