August Reported Servers and Players

Any Battlefield player knows the joy of getting in close to your virtual enemy and cutting off their dog tags as a keepsake. Defeating them with a pistol shot ranks a close second for humiliation hilarity. That’s all well and good, however some players are simply using knifes and pistols alone for hours on end to pad out their stats. We like to call them stat padders. We also like to wipe their stats for cheating and shut down the disallowed servers they rely on

In the month of August, the EA Customer Service team dealt with 350 Battlefield 2 padders and 215 Battlefield 2142 padders with 75 servers investigated between both those games. All of us at DICE would like to thank the Battlefield support team for continuing to up the ante on their anti-stat padding efforts. These anti-cheating efforts will continue as we want to bring the best possible Battlefield experience to all those playing fairly.

Dont flatter yourself I have submitted 45 hackers cheaters and exploiters with supporting video and screenshots not one as ever been acted upon.

This is a shell of a response and doesnt convey the actual situation. It should read, cheats, hacks, exploits and padding are at an all time high and we are as busy as ever doing SQUAT about it.

They want to act like they carry a big stick when they are in the break room sucking on a diet coke.

Maybe if EA wasn't so hard up for ranked server income, there would be a place for all these people. I dunno like an unranked server with all the unlocks available? Then those that like to feel an accomplishment can do so without ever being bothered by the group of people who want to do nothing but get everything at their disposal the fastest way possible.

I mean really if they shutdown 75 servers, wouldn't that be about the same amount of unranked all unlocks available servers running?

So... first EA/Dice puts knife and pistol badges into the game, and then calls people "stat padders" when they try to get those badges and ranks?

Then again, vanilla BF2 was never my cup of tea

Well Im not one to defend EA but the more I play this game the more it reminds me of sex. Some action is better than no action, ya think. I hope thats not to x rated for the younger crowd, anyway. What EA does on this thing, knife and pistol deal, is probably a step in the right direction even though there really needs to be more IMO. Also thanks for the update and I doubt that EA will do anything to the few people who want to run around, a normal server, with thier knife out all the time. They might get thier accounts looked at but as long as they arent cheating I doubt any action would be taken. The same for pistols. I will even waste a pistol clip on an attack chopper just about every time its close enough, Ive even finished off two or three of them that way, so.

It is nice SOMETHING is being done. Though I believe more could be done. Hackers, glitchers ... cheaters in general ruin an online game such as this. Lack of action causes the community to loose faith in the game designers.

Please look at the sheer mass of players in the PunksBusted Master Ban List. The evidence that has placed them there is solid. Many of those players have been busted many times, yet they still have their stats.... WHY?

so let me get this straight i'm not allowed to kill people however i want in this game be it a knife or pistol etc?

I thought stat padding was when you had others in on it and killed your friend over and over with a knife or something to that effect. if useing a knife for hours on end or a pistol is stat padding what about the people that use a sniper rifle to try and get those badges or the guys that use the AT all the time.. i don't get it.

could somone fill me in on what is approved?

If you play on a Ranked server that is legit (meaning it is not a knife and pistol server) and ONLY use your knife and pistol, that is fine. How else would you get those badges? They mean the players on the stat padding servers.

Funny thing is, EA should be working to fix the punkbuster issues with the battlefield games. Punkbuster is far from perfect, but it DOES catch cheaters. The cheaters are way more of a problem than stat padding guys let's be honest.

At least DICE shows they care a tad about the gamers.

I think DICE should be more focused on the cheating, and that patch they promised us that we have been waiting EONS for. The long delay better mean they are just testing out the NEW LEVELS they are going to be giving us, or putting in last minute code to that ever elusive 2142 map editor!

What I want to see is a list of the servers they delt with... I don't know how many treads about miss run servers and abusive admins on this site alone that I've seen that should be taken down.

Give me a list, otherwise I don't believe it.
