While this isn't much of an update, we wanted to let you all know that the Eve of Destruction 2 mod is still alive and a new release is coming soon. Check it out:

BTW, can someone please tell me what guns are in pics 2 and 3? From my untrained eye, the pic with the Mig 19 Farmer looks like a German MP44 and in the 3rd pic it looks like the dude is holding an Gewehr 43?

It is Troy. F4 Phantom II, Mig-19 and Mig-21. Mig-15/17 is not shown in any of the above photos, but we have one.. Courtesy of PeteMonster at USI and Zefan from the BFK mod.

In fact, the Mig-19 hails from our friends at IDF and the F4Phantom is our model reworked by the modelers at OPK. The Mig-21 flies out of the OPK mod as well. (Our aircraft are truely the conglomeration/representation of the mods and mod members at Black Sand Studios.)

However, I digress!

Yes gang, we are still around. We are very much alive and we've been hard at fixing alot of issues with the mod. Streamlining the size of the build. Adding content, and tweaking things.:yay:

We've added in soldiers from the Aussie Army, as well as, the ARVN. A few new weapons have been added in as have several new aircraft and helicopter models. (Some aircraft pictured above.)

Maps have been revamped with pick-up sniper kits, instead of spawnable snipers to limit the number of snipers upon the battlefield. (As it should have been when we first released.) Vietnam was not about snipers, but about the average grunt or soldier slogging through the jungle.

Several additional new maps have been put together as well.

Now that we have our website back up and running smooth again. Look for more news over the next week!

when i played the mod a while back i was a bit dissapointed,the us uniforms looks cartoony,and also there was way to much sniping going on.And it didnt even gave me a Vietnam vibe like Battlefield Vietnam did....

Yeah I agree, BFV is way better in the atmosphere and design and weapons models. I know you guys are a MOD team and not professional but the weapon models imo look downright terrible. The sks looks really blocky and needs to be redone and the m16 seems a bit small and needs work. All in all all the gun models and animations could use an overhaul. The maps are ok I guess but lack any really atmosphere like the ones in BFV. The planes look good n all but the game needs to be almost redone imo. I also realize vietnam isn't the easiest war to make a game on. This is just my criticism and thoughts.

I Remember ALL the CRAP you got after releasing the MOD (and endless remarks about the Sniper rifles).

This TIME I hope you guys pull a "Forgotten Hope 2", and take all the time you want to in making the MOD the best.
