Avast ye and welcome back -- we're here with another Battlefield Pirates 2 news update! This time we'll cover a topic that's sure to raise the eyebrows of even the most drunken pirates. Indeed, today we'd like to talk about the first map developed so far for BFP2 which originates from its predecessor BFP1, namely Dead Calm. It is and has been one of the most popular maps ever for Battlefield Pirates, yet being very simple in concept. Virtually all BFP servers that have come and gone have always had Dead Calm on their map rotations, and we wouldn't be surprised if some servers have turned map vote off in order to have other maps run as well!
Despite being especially popular amongst newcomers, Dead Calm is surely in the hearts of many veterans as well. Dead Calm features two stationary and parallel ships-of-the-line anchored very close to each other in the middle of the sea. Albeit simple, Dead Calm provides versatile gameplay; it offers close-quarters swashbuckling on decks as well as long-distance sniping between the lookout posts on the masts. Dead Calm requires agility, fast reactions, and good aiming -- in many ways it is the perfect map for training as it offers both simplicity as well as versatility.
