The Project Reality Development Team has been hard at work over the past month and we are coming to you today with a number of exciting updates!
GameFlood Map and Mod Contest Results
The GameFlood Map and Mod Contest winners have been announced and the Project Reality Mod has taken first place in the First-Person-Shooter category! We were up against some outstanding mod teams which included mods from not only Battlefield 2, but also several other popular games including Half-Life 2 and Unreal Tournament. All of your initial votes helped secure us a position as a top 10 finalists and from their, we were selected by a panel of industry expert judges to take home first place.
Project Reality Training Team Goes Live
The Project Reality Training Team (PRTT) has gone live this week, paving the way for players to hone their skills in regular training sessions.
The team will be available each Thursday evening British time (currently 1900 - 2000 hrs GMT+1) on a private server with Teamspeak available. Each session will be a chance for PR players both new and old to practice aspects of the game that they may be unfamiliar or struggle with, or even just to pick up some tips and advice from experienced players.
Project Reality v0.61 Patch Update
While progress has been steady, we are taking a bit longer than initially intended to finalize the v0.61 patch as a few of our project leads have been busy dealing with real life issues. None the less, we do hope to release the Project Reality v0.61 patch in the very near future.
Here are a few of the finalized changes and fixes which will be included:
• Removed Crewman Wrench from Crewman Kit, tanks will now have to have engineer support to repair themselves.
• Rally points now give ammo again.
• Some maps have had significant game play adjustments, including ticket bleed adjustments, vehicle spawns and timers, Capture Point adjustments, etc. Full list of all these changes will be posted.
• Scoring system has been overhauled to encourage more teamwork actions and to fix a few incorrect scoring bugs.
• Fixed a lot of python scripting problems that were causing server and client crashes.
• Python code has been refined significantly to hopefully improve server performance.
• Insurgency mode overhauled, should be working properly now.
