Counter-Strike was released long after Half-Life died.

If you build it, they will come.

The map looks awesome, it really does. :)

Ah, See thats what I was wondering, when the first release was gonna be. I figured it might not be until late winter/ early '08.

And actually I say BF2 would be "dying" not dead. Again, when people get their facts straight and not let their emotions take control, things are much clearer.

Ah ok. Well, late summer was somewhat a plan as they had stated - possibly Spring.

Says the one who posted based on emotion and decided to complain about the release.

As history has shown the only thing that will kill BF2 is a real release of another game in the BF series. Also as history has shown this wouldn't be something like a BFV or 2142, but a BF3.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update

Does anyone else not even bother reading the updates anymore and just look to see if a link is at the bottom to download?

This is getting beyond a joke. PoE, PR, OPK have all released their mod's and updated their mod's. 1.8 is the next one on the agenda yet we still wait for 1.0 of FH.

Each news release gets plenty of comments, yet none seem to be from the FH team?

Unless FH2 is the best MOD since CS then you have failed to achieve what the other mod teams already have by keeping the release this long. It's as simple as that.

Or is it as simple as that? Because i'm starting to get curious as to the months on end of waiting. Is there a hidden agenda? Are you hoping to gain something else other than happy players? Possibly hoping for an IGA company to come along before the first release?

Seriously since FH2 was announced this really is too long to wait for a public release and i won't be suprised if the total number of players that play FH2 is nowhere near the number it could of been.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, it isn't, its my opinion along with many others that increase with the number of updates.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update

Listen people, there are 2 main ways to release/make a mod. The first way, is what PR, DC and other mods are doing, release your mod as soon as you have something playable, and keep updating it with small and regular updates (or should be) to keep the player base there and interested. The other way is what FH2 is doing and that is to not release your mod until it is 100% where you want it, which dose take a hell of a long time to do as you have to work on so many areas to get to your final, large goal.

Just accept if FH2 released there build tomorrow, you would be very, very, very unhappy I can tell you cos of all the bugs that will be in it at this stage. Screenshots dont show bugs (or they dont show you the ones with the bugs, I should know ) and the mod still needs to go though loads and loads of testing, tweaking and touching up even thou it may look like its all there.

Take the insurgency mod that has been in the words for around 4 years and only released afew months ago, and as there mod was buggy as hell after all that time alot of players got very, very upset about it. I can tell you now this is the last thing FH2 want to do.

Once again an excellent update ...desert textures look great...much better than the blandness of BF2 desert scenery.Love the destroyed HQ and cant wait for the release when it comes...have bought an 8800gtx so am surmising that it will play ok on my comp...Any info on recommended system specs...will they be the same as those for bf2 or somewhat higher as they were for FH1??cheers

                              hi polka *waves*

tbh, FH2 want to produce a battlecruiser with 16' guns, not a rubber ring with a water pistol with as much offensive capacity as a soap bubble

if i know what im talking about, and from what ive seen in FH for 1942, this Full Conversion will open a can o whoopass when its released, so sit down and sit quietly like an old woman with some knitting

Re: Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update

Rhino has explained it perfect, but let me add that we can't follow the first way even if we would want. We are a WW2 mod for a modern warfare game, so there is not a lot of stuff we can use, most of our content is custom and made from scratch, as must be.

So it's perfectly logic that mods like FH2, BF Pirates, etc, have still not released, meanwhile DCON, USI, OPK, PoE, PR, etc had been released.

Impatience doesn't make mods, I would wish, hell, mods would release in three hours if so
