Forgotten Hope 2 Mod Update

There is a new update posted today over at the Forgotten Hope 2 mod website. Here's what they had to say:

Hello and welcome back to another update of our progress in developing Forgotten Hope 2. First up this week we have a new map by Lili Marlene to show: Sidi Rezegh. First, some historical background on this battle.

"The British "Crusader" offensive began on November 18th with one British corps taking up positions covering Halfaya Pass. The other corps moved across the desert in three columns, with the central one heading for Tobruk to link up with a planned breakout of the garrison troops. This part of the attack went well and reached within ten miles of the port, and took the Sidi Rezegh airfield. Although caught by surprise, Rommel soon realized that the British plan was to reach the Tobruk garrison. On November 22nd he sent his two Afrika Korps armored divisions to recapture Sidi Rezegh, supported by the Italian XXI Corps. The battle over this airfield saw tanks on both sides go up in smoke, but it finally ended up in German hands again." Read more...

the mod is awesome but when the hell is it gonna come out? i dont get why cant you just release it and than do updates as you go.

Because that's what ppl said over and over until they released the first release of FH1, and then those same ppl complained endlessly about an over abundence of bugs and general lack of polish, asking why they released the mod when it wasn't ready . Do you really think the FH devs want to repeat something like that again?

Exactly.

Great work guys! Your work is unbelievable. I have never seen a mod where something as simple as pictures has a mood that seems so much different that vBF2. It looks like an entire different game, in an awesome way. Real WW2 feel to it.

Ok, we've had update after update after update...when are we going to the first release?? I fear that by the time the first release comes out, BF2 will be on the dieing side and hardly anyone will play it.

Do we have an estimated time month when we might see a first released?

Yeah, because there are only 30,000 people playing Battlefield 2 right now... And since the FH team is aiming for a summer release which ends on September 22nd, this guy is suggesting that we are gonna lose all of it's players in one month.

Its been 2 years of the same god dam comments.... BF2 will not die for a long time nor will the mod.

Exactly. And a lot of people dont have a highend quadcore computer to run Crysis and COD4 or whatever, so its good to have something like BF2 that still works, even on my laptop

okay, its like this, i play BF2 on high graphics and it looks pretty good, but is it just me or is this mod starting to look alot better then the actual game :|:

the map screenshots are soooooooo good looking (insert Homer Simpson drooling sound here)

the detail on the textures and shadows almost looks real on some places.

brilliant.
