I know not the best time of day to look but of 9671 people game-monitor say are playing BF2 9157 of them are playing vanilla. The player population of this game is mainly stuck getting points on 24/7 karkand servers, no longer even aware of what a 'good game' is.
A bad sign for future BF games really, the loyal players happy with any old crap so long as they get points.

Shame to see a mod stop always but i cant see you being the last to give up on Battlefield.

i have a 7900gt and I run everything on max in bf2 w/o any lag at all. in qw i have to run low/med to get good frame rates, but it looks like complete crap, not even as good as quake3. scary part is that when i run on highest settings, it doesnt even look as good as bf2 :O

NOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i loved RCon (no pun intended) all those awesome jets and i was sooo looking forward to the laser anti-air and well everything:cry: i must re download it!

make sure you give your uber omgwtfbbqpwnage jets to someone especially the (crap ive forgotten the name) the one that folds up

@kiff i also have a 7900gt, I can run everything maxed out but only 8x AA and turned off 2 other special lighting effects and i get good enough frames to play just as i would in bf2 (although in bf2 i get around 70fps on all max) but truthfully it doesnt look like anything special i really hoped they toned the grahics down for the beta

They have made a good choice, BF2 ias going down hill day by day. Reasons: EA & DICE don't give a **** about their products, there is still a boat load of bugs that again nobody wants to fix, the mod community has been let down.

The gameplay sucks & the gfx are dated.

Move onto QW you will see a better game that is loved & cared for by its fathers.

Sad to see RC shut down...I've been a fan of their work since DCX .72.

Good luck and keep us posted...!

Sorry to hear guys, but it will be for the better.

I'm confident that once SDP can move on from the recent depression and plan out a new concept, you'll be able to go far. Had a lot of good times while working with y'all, and can wish only the best for you.

See you in the next generation

                Re: Rising Conflicts Stops Production

Correct me if i'm wrong, I heard that QW will use a very similar style ranking system to BF2 (ranked servers, badges/points and ROE bs). If that's the case, then do you guys think it's really worth it?

                  Re: Rising Conflicts Stops Production

From what I have seen of the stats so far, it appears to only be based on the individual player. There isn't a leader board or anything like that and there is no real advantage to gaining ranks (unlocks). You can earn enhancements specific to your class over the course of a campaign but once that campaign is over, the earned enhancements are lost.

The main reason we are changing platforms isn't the rank system. ETQW is a much more flexible game from a coder's point of view. We will be able to accomplish a lot more with this vs BF2.

face it guys, every future MP games will have ranks, medals and stuff. It increases the masses success of the game, and mods are secundary for big companies.

The only hope is the games add ranking for mods or at least an alternative ranking system for them.

The thing about Quake Wars is you can't really review anyone elses stats. Its more of a personal thing than a competition like it is in Battlefield 2. I haven't talked to Splash Damage about integrating mods into the stats system, it might be a good idea however, especially if the game sees a pro variant ala W:ET.
