FFoW is another possible consideration that we have looked into.
At the time though, ETQW is the most likely candidate.

        Meh...

Give me one solid reason why ANY mod should stick with this engine.....

Thats never going to happen we still have a backbone at SDP a very talented one at that. SDP isnt just Rising conflicts, its far more than that.

We closed Rc i guess due to problems with bf2 and its total lack of support coupled togther with the fact, the majority of the team refused to or didn't want to work with EA/bf2 anymore. Were all working hard brainstorming the new project, and the new engine looks very promising from what i have saw.

              SaltydogsProductions is far from dead:salute:

It is a beta. Wasn't meant to be judged as an end product. I give cudos to Splash Damage for having the guts to put their game out there knowing that ppl will not take it as a beta and help solve bugs and improve the game, but rather download it to judge on, and unfairly so imo.

Off topic though. It is sad what Dice did to BF2 and modding. It's what got the Battlefield name to where it is. It's why BFV was made (idea came from EoD), BF2 (most obviously Desert Combat), and what they did to the now Kaos Studios, buying them, using them for original ideas, then tossing them in the trash (without paying them fully mind you!)

I can't believe ppl play the game still after all the bugs, bad patches, treatment of the mod community. I don't. Ethically, DICE is the driver of the short bus.

                    Re: Rising Conflicts Stops Production

I played RC (the second release, I believe), I found that there were a lot of problems with it. But I could also see that a lot of those problems were caused by the limitations of the engine, and not the coders. Here's hoping that moving on to a new engine gives you the opportunity to realize all of your ideas!

                        very sad to hear that

hope you find ET:QW is better, only real thing that puts me off about it from a modding perspective was that its only 32 players max and only 1km x 1km maps (1/2 the size of normal bf2 maps for thous of you who dont know).

I want to try out the switchblade again - the first one was brilliant fun
BTW I sincerely hope that your work in BF2 does not go to waste completely - I'm sure other mod makers are drooling over your Israeli military models .... insurgency mode in Project Reality comes to mind

                              Re: Rising Conflicts Stops Production

Sorry to hear Rising Conflicts folding, but I completey understand why. The waning interest from players and the little engine that almost could are the 2 top reasons in my eyes why it's so hard to be a modder on this game. Best of luck with the new direction of Salty Dogs and I hope it all works out in the future for QW's or FFoW. I have a keen eye on FFow myself and great faith in Frank Delise and Kaos when it comes to the mod department. The Unreal3 engine will be a dream to work on compared to this wonderful engine we've all had the dis-pleasure of working with, heh.

You did a terrific job on RC gentlemen and you can't argue with the amount of dedication and talent that went into the mod. Good luck and hopefully we'll all be part of the next gen game communities and commenting on the work we'll all be doing then! :)

A lot of BF2 players won't be going to QW, as their computer's can't handle it. From what I've seen, I think my computer wouldn't quite be up to par to play QW, so I'm sticking with BF2 and the new Insurgency mod for the Steam engine.
