    Rising Conflicts Stops Production

While the title says it all, there is more to the story for the Rising Conflicts mod team. Here's what they had to say:
This was a difficult decision for us to make and this bit of news is some that I had hoped I would never have to deliver. None the less, here it is: We here at Salty Dogs Productions have decided to cease development of Rising Conflicts indefinitely. We have lost a lot of developers over the lest few months due to issues with lack of interest both internally and from the community, personal issues, and frustration with the game itself. Recently we have become nothing more than a skeleton crew just keeping the lights on and the chairs warm. We've all put a great deal of work into this project and it really hurts to do this but, we believe that moving on is for the best. We are currently considering donating some of our work to some other modifications. It would be a shame to see all of the hard work go to waste. You should know more about that shortly.

Now, we are not closing our doors at all. The team has been discussing new projects and working out specifics and we wish to share them with the community. We'll likely be going with Enemy Territory: Quake Wars for our platform. The basic premise of the mod will be a near-future scenario focusing on innovative, fun gameplay. We have had a great experience with Splash Damage, the developers of ETQW, so far and we wished Battlefield 2 could have been like this. The possibilities quite literally would have been endless. Below I'll post three scenarios that I have worked on. These are all fairly rough as they are just quick drafts. We are still deciding on which, if any to choose and we would like your opinion on them. Also, if you have any suggestions for a possible scenario either post it here or email it to PR@saltydogsproductions.com.

While another mod is now gone for BF2, it's nice to hear they will continue development of a new mod for ETQW. To learn more...click here

Sad to hear the mods going down, i enjoyed that mod, though lack of players made it seem less fun.

Always sad to see fellow BF2 modders leaving (Damn you EA and the rank system). Good luck with your future project Gents.

Sad to see it go.... I myself was a member of the team, but due to some real life issues I had to go. There are some VERY talented people within RC, and I am glad that they have decided to continue on. GOOD LUCK ALL!

very sad to see. id love to hear a news story about you joining a existing mod team and not let your talents go to waste, i saw some wonderful things being developed that i think would find a great home in some of the existing mods.

Thanks for the kind words guys, especially the other modders.

Wolfi, why do you say that? QW seems like it'll be a great base and SplashDamage has been very good to us so far.

$kelet0r, we did release a second one.

                          I agree.

Personally i think you should of stuck with the BF2 engine. There will be more players still playing BF2 and its mods than ETQW. Add on the fact that other BF2 mods are still in production, i personally think your decision was a bit hasty, but its exactly that, your decision. What ever you guys do, good luck :)

                            Chef,
Battlefield 2 has limited us immensely. It got to the point where several developers just couldn't deal with the engine and bailed. The community was given crappy tools with poor documentation, was lied to repeatedly, and overall has been screwed pretty badly by EA / DICE. Frankly, I see little reason to stick around when there are better opportunities available for us. We've been working on Rising Conflicts for about two years now, this decision is far from hasty.

you guys might want to wait for ffow. kaos has pledged to support mods 100%. Im sure SD/id will too, but from playing the beta i was very disapointed. the graphics seem subpar even to bf2, even though the engine is theorectically way more advanced. the vehicles are pretty bad too, not sure if its the engine or scripting there tho... either way good luck guys
