    BF2 Stats Problem

We have received some news today about the on-going problem with BF2 recording stats:
We have identified the problem causing the recent stats issue that has affected a lot of Battlefield 2 players. Our planned fix will ensure that your current and ongoing stats are recorded. In the meantime, we are going to start seeing the stats being processed from the time of the outage. When this happens, over the course of a few days, you may see little to no relevant updates to you stats. This is not because any stats are lost or broken, and you should see normal processing continue once everyone's stats processing from that time that the stats are caught up.

Thank you for your patience the last couple of days.

Be sure to stick around and we will keep you updated.

Yeah - I don't know why but on our server, whenever we run Karkand, we recieve our stats again... However when we were on 24/7 Dalian or Wake, we wouldn't recieve our stats.

    Crazy stuff guys.

I wish that they remained broken forever because stats has ruined this franchise....and yes, I am 100% correct when I say this.

BF1942 and BF:V were designed around winning. In every game there is a winner and a loser. Winning was an incentive to keep winning, and to use teamwork while losing was a hard lesson in what you did wrong.

Stats do not promote teamwork or winning. Why in the blue Christing hell do we give anything to the losing team is beyond anyone with functioning synapses. When I see gold medals being awarded to the top player in a round...and that player was on the losing team....I ROFL. I think that if you are on the losing team....you should get nothing because you EARNED nothing but an X in the losers column.

So in other words, we now have this culture where losing is ok as long as you are the best loser.:shakehead:

Thank God these people aren't in charge of running our educational or economic institutions.

This story is about 2 weeks late... from what I hear they're just starting to fix some servers so people are getting their stats but the issue isn't completely resolved as others aren't getting their stats still.

And 100% an ***. I've been playing the Battlefield series since the release of the multiplayer demo for BF1942 and I don't think that stats have ruined the game at all. Especially in BF2. BF2142 is getting iffy because there is just so much god damn stuff going on. I love winning in both games and I don't play for stats but I still like getting good ones. You can do both and it really isn't that hard.

              Anyways, good job EA/DICE/Gamespy!

yes stats have ruined this game, on every forum people were whining "when will the stats be fixed". "i didnt get my medal" blah blah blah. plus every ranked server has a set of institutionalized rules. i have never seen so many lame rules in my life. these rules usually benefit the people that pay for the server, they can call for anyone to be kicked. "ricky stole my plane and i was here first" ricky kicked. i have been kicked so many times that i hardly play anymore. and natedawg is a mutant retard.

If being right dons me the moniker of being the a s s of all a s ses....so be it, I'll continue to be right.

It's rather amusing when I play a map like Oman, and we're camping the carrier as MEC because we have all the flags, and I see two idiots who made it all the way from the carrier....to come all the way....to throw C4 on commander assets because they will get their little jihad badge...I have to LOL. So much for teamwork and I see it ALL the time. But at least I give them credit for not waiting for an F-35.

Stats have ruined the premise of the game and has institutionalized a culture of ego seeking juveniles. Who said there was no "I" in TEAM??????

Oh, I was just wondering how a decent human being could be so egotistical and naive to say that his opinion is right above all else. Just funny to see people try to act tough via text.

Welcome to adulthood son. Yes, opinions matter. Opinions make the world what it is. It will dictate certain things for your future as well. Will your boss have the opinion that you are a good worker ( I hope so). Will the Supreme Court share your "opinion" that video games don't cause societal violence?

Opinions are everywhere....but those that matter are born from critical thinking.

If stats are that important to you....then why play to win at all?

Who here will raise their little hand and proclaim that they play for "stats"?

I, along with many others (mainly in the competition community) play to win. Just as in life...I play to win.
