Hello and welcome to another Battlegroup-Frontlines update. Today we have new aircraft to show you. The Messerschmitt BF-110C “Zerstörer." The BF-110 was modelled and skinned by Postman778.
The BF-110 heavy fighter was first flown in May of 1936 and by the end of World War Two around 6,000 produced. The first successful version was the C version which had improved engines (DB-601 in place of the Jumo-210) as well as improved armour and equipment for use as a fighter, bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. At the start of the war the BF-110 was more feared than the BF-109 and it was very effective in Poland against a weaker air force but however in the Battle of Britain they incurred horrific losses which resulted in the removal from the frontline fighter role. After being removed from frontline day service the BF-110 was adapted to become a night fighter were it had greater success against the RAF four engined bombers that were attack Germany at night as well as being adapted to become a fighter bomber.
