    BattleGroup-Frontlines Mod Update #29

There is a new update posted today over at the BattleGroup-Frontlines mod website. Here's what they had to say:
Hello and welcome to another Battlegroup-Frontlines update. Today we have some German armoured cars which have been modelled and skinned by Nimrod they are the SdKfz 231, SdKfz 232 and the SdKfz 263. We also have for you a gameplay video depicting a German attack on a Soviet held village in the Ukraine which has been made by CaptainRoger.

The SdKfz 231 was a replacement for the 6 wheeled armoured car of the same designation as there was a need for more cross-country capabilities and the process was completed by 1940. It became the backbone of the Wehrmacht’s heavy reconnaissance brigades until the end of the war.

The SdKfz 232 was similar to the SdKfz 231 (it also retained the designation of the 6 wheeled armoured car) and was designed to follow it into battle as it was equipped with a radio - despite the fact that the SdKfz 231 had a radio. Despite this fact it remained in production until 1942.

The SdKfz 263 was intended for use as a unit commanders vehicle and as a result it did not have a turret and had a reduced armament of just one machine gun. It was phased out of production in late 1941 as it was found that halftracks better suited this role.

Here is the video for you which shows a German attack on a village in the Ukraine.

Nice looking video! I love the "aging" effects that make it look like a newsreel.

Looks like a release is coming soon, congrats!

Showing such things doesn´t mean a release is coming soon.
I think the comunity still must wait a few months...

Did I see Soviet Player models - the one's wih MP40's and Pilotka's? Are those actual tank sounds and effects, because they look awesome! The video was boring though, but the content is great. Oh and that APC looks really weird/ugly!

No, you did not see a Soviet player model with a German MP40 They have their own weapons to use.

Yes, those are actual tank effects. The filter used to make the video causes them to look a little different than they will ingame, though.

All the vehicles look exactly like they did in real life, so blame the Germans and Soviets for making such weird/ugly things

Where were the Soviets in that battle then? Were the Germans shooting at nothing?

                    Re: BattleGroup-Frontlines Mod Update #29

there were Soviets there, but the focus of this video was not on them. This video was made by a beta tester on our team, and the devs had nothing to do with the filming or editing in any way. He chose to film the Germans attacking the village during an online testing session, so this is what you see. He was making a personal video that he shared with us, and we decided it was newsworthy. So we shared it with you.

You asked if you saw Soviet player models with MP40's. I answered that you did not. If you saw a Soviet player model in that video at all (some can be seen in the distance at the church) then they would have had Mosin Nagant rifles (or possibly an SVT-40), not MP40's.

Nice video, do know what software was used to edit it.....also, how was that newsreel type aging effect done, I'd like to utilize something like that for a vid I'm currently making.

I believe the fan that made it is German and you should prolly sign up at our forum and ask him there....as it was said already no Dev made it. So we can't really help you....Sorry

You should slow down the soldier movement. It looks like Benny Hill with guns instead of T&A.
Other than that it looks mighty fine indeed.
