Actually, you can port a mighty lot of stuff from 42 to bf2. The PoE dev team began making models for bf2 so they could be used in PoE2, using bfv as a testbed before bf2 was released. FH2 similarly designed vehicles for bf2 and had them ingame in bf42. BF:A never had a bfv release, as a bf2 centric mod, but they had hundreds of objects in their bfv test build, and spent the next year porting them all to bf2. Porting levels is even easier as long as you port the static objects or have suitable replacements. I don't mean to flame you, but, it's just you are entirely wrong as most dev teams that are producing sequels for their original bf42/bfv content did create stuff that could easily be transported to the bf2 engine at the end of the original mods lifespan.

Btw, it's good to see some custom skins, I hope the mod continues to separate itself from bf2.

Because that's stuff made by us, but he is right we can't port BF42 stuff done by the DICE team. Obviously the DC stuff was property of DC, not DICE, but DC and dcon are diferent teams

Well, technically... the stuff was made by DC, who were bought by DICE, who were bought by EA. So, it's all EA's stuff now.. and off limits.

I know all about the EULA, the person seemed to be saying on technical terms the stuff couldn't be ported, rather than legal terms -

"The fact that you don't know that you cannot port anything from '42 into the BF2 engine shows your complete ignorance on the subject and proves you are nothing but flame bait."

His argument was, "you can't transport stuff between the engines, therefore, you are wrong." rather than, , "it's possible, but highly illegal to take copyrighted material from bf42 and put it in bf2".

Desert Combat was possible thanks to Frank D and Trauma studio which was bought out by EA, which also bought DICE. Bottom line here is, NOTHING was direct ported, all the re-created maps and vehicles you see in DCon was the result of our hard working Devs.

I know Catia, I told DC and DCON are diferent teams. That's why dcon can't port DC stuff, and you didn't
