    US Intervention Mod Update

There is a new media update posted today over at the US Intervention mod website. Here's what they had to say:
We decided no new maps were ready for a map update. So instead this week I am giving you guys a few new things that have been ingame for a little while now. So enjoy this weeks update and remember you will find everything shown here on our content page.

Another thing we would like to let you know about is our second USI weekend! Forward Line of Own Troops will be hosting it's second US Intervention weekend on the official US server for USI. We would like to once again thank FLOT for their continued support of the USI mod and for providing us a server for us to test our new content on. You can find more information regarding the USI weekend here.

This is what was posted over at BSS

As a result, in 1969, the Rock Island Arsenal converted 1,435 National Match (target grade) M14 rifles by adding a Leatherwood 3–9x Adjustable Ranging Telescope (ART) telescopic sight and furnishing National Match grade ammunition.

Several variants exist, ranging from single M14 to highly modified rifles with scopes, fiberglass stocks, etc.

                  M14 SMUD

                  * Stand-off Munition Disruption, used by Explosive Ordnance Disposal personnel to destroy unexploded ordnance.
                  * Essentially an M14 National Match rifle with scope.

the Scout Snipers of the Subic Bay naval base used M14 NM with ART II scopes during jungle patrols
