    US Intervention Mod Update

The US Intervention mod team has posted up a massive update today showing off all sorts of new media. Have a look:
Now on to what you all came to see! USI would like to reintroduce the Ad Dawrah Oil Fields map. This map was originally created by Mr.Good and was later finished by Guedoe. I will just post what we got to hear about changes. So heres the minimap which will give you a good idea of the whole map. As always with a minimap you need to have some screens follow and this week we have alot of them for you guys!

    <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/adofminiox7.jpg"><img src="http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/thumb_adofminiox7.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/towersnl4.jpg"><img src="http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/thumb_towersnl4.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/cranehr1.jpg"><img src="http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/thumb_cranehr1.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>
    <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/trainwreckgh8.jpg"><img src="http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/thumb_trainwreckgh8.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/apachemv5.jpg"><img src="http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/thumb_apachemv5.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/m2a2armud3.jpg"><img src="http://www.totalbf2.com/images/news/thumb_m2a2armud3.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>
This week besides Ad Dawrah Oil Fields we also bring you something all our fans had asked us for. We would like to introduce the little bird series of helicopters that we traded for with Project Reality. Since we are reintroducing the Little Birds to the public giving credit to the original creators is only fair. We would like to recognize archenemy for modeling them and leatherface for skinning them. The MD500 model was tweaked by Jarleif and the skin was was recolored by SlayerDarkCross. Jarleif was the one who also coded both AH-6 varients.

We'd also like to mention that there is now a US Intervention forum opened here on TotalBF2 to discuss all things USI. To check out the rest of this update, click here.

USI and DCon should merge and make an uber mod! I don't see any client files for download on the site, did you guys pull the original release?

                        There ya go

Regarding your question on merger. USI has no intention on merging with Dcon.

USI is a realistic approach to the Persian Gulf War.
-We strive for high quality models and textures.

Dcon is bringing back what their fans asked for.
                        -They strive for performance.

                        Its Quality vs. Performance

The two mods thusforth have no relation.

Lets stay on topic this could quickly go down a road I dont want it too.

USI is still looking for testers!

Yes a Merge would be nice but is like saying Call of Duty and Battlefield 1942 should of merged. Same Time but 2 different roads.

Dcon's is proud of there baby and we are proud of ours. Dcon has some excellent maps and coding done, and there aim for becoming the desert combat for bf2, makes them in a totally different road then where we are going.

USI isn't trying to recreate the past. We are coming up with new ideas. Taking advantage of all the new options you can do with a game at this level. We are also trying to deliver content that is historically accurate but not overwhelmingly realistic that it requires hours getting use to. We are trying to build a mod that every time you play, you see something new or unexpected but is overall fun to play.

Anyone who has played both mods could probably agree they'd rather each mod stand as their own. I know this discussion will continue until Battlefield 3, and that's okay because we love it when you fight over us. We are like the pretty girls and you all want to take us to prom

but honestly, at the end of the day it's a game. And its fun...
