    Nations at War Mod Update

The Nations at War mod team is back today with an update for their upcoming version, 5.0. Listen up:
In case you were wondering, we are still here and working hard to bring you NAW 5.0 within a few weeks. Right now we are testing NAW 5.0 in-house and we can report that things are going surprisingly well. We have added A.I (bots) to over 50 maps as well as new features since the last NAW 4.01 release.

We would like the thank all the people who helped us get A.I done for NAW 5.0. Without the great folks from the BF SinglePlayer site (Death_EnForcer and SatNav ) and WCCSQUAD.COM ( RadarOReilly & StrykerJ), all this would not be posible... bot support for NAW 5.0 is now complete. New nav meshes were done by StrykerJ over at wccsquad and others who will be credited in the final read me.

As you might know, NAW was the first MOD to introduce arctic maps and skins, hand held ground-to-air missiles, quad and dirt bikes, and of course "The Nuke". In NAW 5.0 we have also added night vision to all classes, Javelin Heat Seeking Anti-Armour Missile and the M40A3 Sniper rifle.

    Naw 5.0 will consist of:
    • Over 50 Maps (most released over a few months)
    • 9 modes of Play consisting of ...
    • Co-op - 16, 32, & 64 player
    • Singleplayer - 16, 32, & 64 player
    • Conquest Mode - 16, 32, & 64 player
    • 7 kits in game + 4 different pickups per side
    • Each kit has 9 items - parachute, night vision and 7 other weapons
    • More nukes for more maps
    • We go into closed beta testing in 10 days.

That look like thee same Javelin PR was going to use. Did you guys work out the kinks with it? It seemed pretty buggy in our testing so we decided to not include it in .5. Anyway, good luck with the release, sounds good. :0

ye the big problem we found with it over at PR is that its just too awesome. it can lock onto anything, out of view distance and you can destory praticly anything with it...

one of the things we did as testers is have the littlebird fly around, with a guy with a javelin on the side and could fly really high and still lock onto pretty much anything and kill it from totaly out of site and there wasnt much the enemy tank could do to stop it, best thing he could do is jump out of the tank and run :p

that combined with the fact the MEC / PLA still get the same old HAT that dont lock etc put the blance off to much for our mod.

anyways nice update guys, may check it out and ye, you should get onto modjive :)

Re: Nations at War Mod Update

nations at war started out being about a tournament, and was therefore a tournament biased mod in which such weapons would not have been included.

since the demise of the tournament (when 2142 came around), and the falling numbers of online players for the 'smaller' mods (i.e. not PR of PoE:2), the dev's decided to make this mod Single Player biased, as there is a great fanbase for such mods, and therefore people can play coop or sp if there is noone around.

for these reasons, the team have moved away from having perfectly balanced teams, and allowed more 'fantastic' weapons to be introduced. all of this in the aim to make this mod as enjoyable for SP-COOP as possible.

as for those seeking to hijack the thread, stop. this is to discuss/celebrate the coming of one of a handful of singleplayer mods for bf2, not to say this mod had this first, or isn't that mod so much better that the other. pathetic.

i personally can't wait for the release, and i also hope it will be available on modjive (as it's all i seem to be using atm...).

                            well done team.

                            :)
